Spotted a Hyundai Sonata - I kid you not - grey colour pulled over a van on passing lanes going north to Pukerua Bay. Geez, they must be trying to save money . . . :bye:

I did post about that car before christmas, if I remember rightly quite a few people just assumed I'm a dumb blonde who can't tell the difference between a Honda & Hyundai badge

There's a few different ones floating about - I think they realised that undercover Commodores are piss easy to spot, so they got sneaky. There is a white Hy-and-Dri out West

It's your own fault. If you weren't breaking the law, you filthy Godless swine, you wouldn't get tickets

Yes they are getting very sneaky.

Heres an undercover from my neck of the woods.

I remember seeing a Mazda (could have been an RX-8) mufti cop car, in red, looked bloody nice too, just north of National Park (Mt Ruapehu) a few years ago, could hardly tell it was one, untill they put their lights on.

That car has been in wellington for over a year now. I know because I have put tyres on it. There is a few more of them aswell so watch out.

They had some 200SX Nissans on loan from Nissan a few years ago.

They have a variety of odd cars, but no break the law, no ticket.

Yawn.

I saw some nondescript grey car a few weeks ago on the Northern Motorway with its mufti lights on. Can't remember what it was (looked like a Jap import Nissan or somesuch), but it wasn't summat I'd have picked as a cop car.

Last week at a petrol station I saw a grey Nissan Maxima that turned out to be a mufti car (grey with black roof)

I have seen a yellow boy-racer style car near Gisborne, driven by a blond chick. I didn't spot the model (of the car), though. That was around New Year.

So where does it say the Police are only alowed to drive mufti cars so long as they are conspicuous as Police vehicles?

Police in Co Durham (UK) have had an old beat up Ford Fiesta with a huge engine in it for pursuit for years.

Yep, I remember when I lived in the Mount about 8 years back there was a muff cop used to drive around in a holden ute with a couple of surfboards strapped to the back.

Saw a blue, very standard looking, toyota corolla/prius/whatever mufti on my way to the Greymouth street races over Lewis pass. At least it would be easy to outrun
