north of Christchurch, motorway bridge over Waimakariri has a skinny post between north and southbound lanes on southern end (pointing south...)with a camera of sorts on it.....Anybody on here seen it ,can tell me what it would be?
First I thought speed, but since it is not in an enclosure I doubt that now...

There's more to it than just a camera, if indeed there is a camera, as my Valentine has been going nuts on this stretch of road for months. Picks it up from the Kaiapoi on ramp (Ka band).

I will try to take a picture off this set-up, but found online a posted view of traffic from exactly the location this contraption is located.
Over thirty years without tickets....
And now 2 in a few months.....both by sneaky hidden camera's....
Feels un-sportsman like, hunting versus trapping.....
This sneaky sh*t is below my dignity....
May have to get a Radar detector..?
Nah..will lose my plate number more likely...

And there is exactly the same on the other end of the motorway as well...

They probably have speed sensors in them for monitoring of traffic flow, just like they have all the way up Ngauranga Gorge in Welly.
I don't think they can be used to fine anybody. If they could I'd have lost my license by now.
