Did any one else see the scooter racing on "Petrol Heads" (Discovery Channel) yesterday afternoon at 1:30. Man o man these guys are nuts. Most common scooter was a Lambretta, had standard, modified and sidecars. Modified means keep the chassis, wheels, and "motor" and some of the modified scooters can go over 100mph. Side cars are the standard motor bike sidecar with the scooter motor in them.

Sounds really entertaining. It should start up here. I wonder what the interest would me in having it here?

I know that people are getting into bucket racing and motards usually at smaller tracks, like cart tracks and Taupo:D . I wonder if Scooter E Motion would be interested in sponsoring a series.

One sees lots of scooters around. When I met one, I will encourage him/her to go to the Pukekohe Open days. That could start something off? What is" bucket" racing anyway?

Short for "Bucket of Shit". 100cc road racing where bikes are generally cobbled together out of wreckers' yards for a couple of hundred bucks. Racing is done on short, tight circuits like go-kart tracks, supermarket car parks etc. Happens in Mt Wellington (AMCC run it).

You guys realise we already have a scooter class at our Fifty Frenzys?
For the unititiated, we race on grass paddocks on road tyres, on bikes and scooters (model must have been road-registerable, i.e. not mx specials etc)
Teams of three riders, each rider gets 2 sprint races (no practice, 1 sighting lap) followed by the Teams 2 Hour race.
Events in and around Hamilton. 3rd of 4 events this year coming up on October 18th

Heaps of fun.
Get in touch if you are interested.

Cheers
Steve

How about posting the details on the events calendar in this forum, Steve.

I went to watch a frenzy in Tauranga a couple of years or so ago - great fun!:niceone:
