28th Febuary - Wet, Cold, Blowing like a barsteward. But you could not wipe the smile from my face even if you had :bash: me with a ten foot pole..:)

Reason.........My new steed arrived...:scooter:

So it was off to the shop to see it uncrated.

Thanks to Pete from WMC for taking the time out to do this. Was just like christmas.

Gotta like the way they are packed up and transported nowadays.

Some pics included. Only took the boxing off, and a layer of wrap. Rest of it is being done by the lads in the workshop on Monday....

Sorry about the quality of the photo's is only a rubbish digital camera, with a mostly flat battery.....:)

Is it true that it weighs 241kg?
http://www.suzuki.co.nz/Motorcycle/Street/GSX650F/
Seems like a rather lot for a 650.

Anyway, awesome bike.
(Suzuki NZ's new website is heaps better as well)

Edit:
Ah, I just read, the other weights are all dry weights while this one was curb weight. Consistency?

Ooh! Nice!
Wottizzit? A Kawasuckme?

No wait - it's not Kermit Green - must be a Honda then. Hope you've taken your anti-gheyness tablets then (and remember - they're suppositories; DON'T swallow them! :nono: )

I like the special steel safety bar thingos - they should stop it falling over and like that there. Might make lanesplitting problematic though...

Nope looked at a Honda VFR800, would have bought that if it did not come down to a matter of dollars, as I wanted a VFR for a long time.

And yeah thought might be a bit of a problem splitting, might take a lot of mirrors with me if it stayed on.

DingoZ
2nd March 2009, 17:28
Oh Oh Oh Oh My Gawd....!!!!!.....:)

I just came in my trousers.......:devil2:

Left work at 4:00
Rode like a demon (albeit a Hyo demon) home
Pulled into the driveway
Saw the WMC Ute with my shiny beastie on the back of it at the end of the driveway.....

Off comes the jkt and helmet, out comes the camera. Off the ute comes the bike.....

Paperwork and a run down on the bike from Jim.....Slipped some :apint: $ to the man, and for the crew at WMC.

Waved goodbye with one hand as he was dissapearing out the drive, while slipping the jkt, helmet, gloves on with the other hand....

Started the bike, and I swear I got half a mongrel.....anyways jumped on and it's off, to scrub the tyres in.

Well what better road to do this on than the coast road.

First impressions on the bike.....

1. Comfy
2. Gotta remember I actually have a THROTTLE now, and it does not take much persuading to get up and boogie.
3. Cornering is like a dream. Sits over nicely and takes the corners like they are not there.
4. Brakes are awesome..
5. Riding position is brilliant. Not hunched over. Seems like it is just right.
6. In case I didn't mention it before....."OH my gawd, the throttle.", the tinniest twist and it's wanting to boogie......No longer do I have to keep the throttle on, cornering. Can take the edge off before the corner and it's got plenty of kick out...Will take me a wee while to get used to this, but was expected...

Back home to have a coffee. Perve at the bike. Say Hi to the other half, coffee, the obligatory how was your day, write this up. And now it's back out for another blat.........:done:

Big thanks to Pete at WMC and the guys in the workshop....More photo's coming

Nothing wrong with the stock tyres mate! Glad you're loving it...and a massive thanks for doing business with us and myself...you're a total pleasure to deal with!

May you have many happy and safe km's with your new partner!

Hi DingoZ, congrats on your purchase and good choice! Good to see you got the faster blue model as well :) There's much discussion on this over at www.gsx650f.biz which is a pretty good resource if you haven't already found it.

I've had mine since November and just love it to bits, so hopefully you'll be happy with yours too. I can't make tomorrow's Wednesday ride but should be up for the next one, or might tag along with the Sunday 250 ride if the weather is OK. Be good to see another one on the road anyway.

Cheers...
