Hey all,

Just wondering how much you think a VTR250 2005 model with 2000 kms should/would fetch?

The bike has not been dropped, no rust, good condition (like new even), just has not been ridden much. Has wof/rego. Engine in good nick

No, I am not selling however have got good interest in one at the moment.

Would probably fetch around $6,500 in the current market.

I paid $6k for mine last year (2007 model when it was 1.5 years old with only 7,000 kms on the clock - same condition (hadn't been dropped and still 6 months transferrable warranty)... I got that cheap.

Are you buying through a dealer or privately?

PS: They are a great bike. suspension can be a little juddery, but they hold their lines well through corners. Just check the bottom triple clamp for any rust underneath (that's the only place mine has a little). Being a 2005 bike, it might very well be better made than the later models. Bloody good fuel economy. When ridden nicely - my partner and I can get 300kms+ before hitting reserve (ie. on 11 litres). We have got 350kms on a 13 litre tank a few times.

I know its higer kms... but to give you some perspective: I paid $4500 for my O7 two months ago with 38,000 kms on the clock, Metzler M3's, LED indicators, a tail tidy kit with LED rear light and Leo Vince can on it. Had been dropped and needed some bits and pieces fixed, which i have replaced with new parts from Honda as well as a full profressional re-spray in black.

PS: Selling it in a couple of months :shifty:

Buying it privately - in fact off TM I have won the auction - mine was the highest bid but had not reached reserve which was $6500 but is giving to me at $6100 (heading to Aussie)

I just did not want to over spend on the bike as I may upgrade after my Full License. I still think $6100 might be on the high side since its a 2005 model + plus I am biased since I'm forking up 6Gs for it. However when i test drove the seat and handling felt great so was keen for this. :msn-wink:

By the way the seller says that the Manual is all Japanese. Did anyone get a English Manual?

The other thing is it does not have a center stand - how do you get your maintenance done? (chain cleaning/adjustment etc) do you have some sort of center stand like the racing guys?

Cheers
