I suppose you could say I pioneered the old surfboard/motorbike thing back in the day. Indonesia was ripe for the picking. I was living in Seminyak (see rice field then) in the late 80's and travelling regularly to Lombok/Sumbawa to catch waves. Thats a different story all together. But I'd always see these crazy tourists about Kuta, in holiday/piss/drug fueled states, get off the wrong side of these HOT chrome pipes to recieve the hell burn that if its good will fill up with fluid and hang from your inner calf. You'd see all these burn marks all the time.
I even said to a guy in jest one time, "is that your Bali tatto bro?!", to have him laugh and begin to tell me some story about being pissed and getting it from the pipe.
I did see, late one night, A mate come through a chicane at speed on a YT115 (in a pack), loose it low side, straddles the bike standing on the side, sparks everywhere, smashes(see slides it) into a 2foot gutter and lands on his feet on the footpath, unscathed. Only in Bali. :sunny:
