Thinking about buying this

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=205712608 I contacted the owner who said they don't know if it's had the top end rebuilt or the power valves replaced. I'm in Christchurch so I don't want to travel all the way to Queenstown to have a look at it. Is there any mechanic in Queenstown that can give me a third party report of the bike? It just seems to have quite a high mileage for a 2 stroke and I don't want to end up with another project that needs a rebuild.

The k's seem a bit high for a 2 stroke, find out of the engine was rebuilt / power valves serviced. If these fuck out while you're riding it, it's going to cost you tons to get sorted.

My mates got one of those its done 50000km and still going strong,not sure if its had a rebuild in its time tho. Great lil bikes tho

then take it around to "oyster's " place and get him to check it out, what he doesn't know about the bike isn't worth knowing.!!

If worst comes to worst and it needs a top end rebuild, how much is a new piston, rings and power valves going to cost? Including all parts and labour.

I'm no mechanic, but I'm in Queenstown, and know quite a bit about cars & bikes.. I'm happy to go & have a look / quick ride see if it pulls ok, rides straight, etc?

New piston kit and crank is around 300-400. Powervalves... well you don't wanna mess those up $$$.
