Think I know where the herald went wrong. This page comes up under a google search of 'red ducati 749 images'.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh but they had not (at that stage) confused a Ducati with a Busa. Huge blunder....like confusing a Mustang with a Camaro....

Oh! Was the original photo in the herald online article of a busa? It showed a Duc this morning when I looked, hence I was really confused about what you guys were banging on about!

And worse than confusing Mustang & Camaro - more like Mustang and Ferrari!

When I first put the link up yes, a busa was used in the pic, also in the Sunday Herald, they have now changed that pic to a 749........or similar....

That could be due to the bollocking email I sent them.

$30,000 for a used 749?

You couldn't even get that amount for a 749R.

I was so outraged I leaved a message with the chief editor  Nah not the outraged part, but I did leave a message to confirm that picture was correct.

More like confusing a Ferrari with a schoolbus.
The sad fact is that a google search for 'Ducati 749' took 0.26 seconds, and came up with a selection of photos. It would've taken the 5#!t-for-brains intern at the herald at least 7 seconds to click through to Pashnit's site and see a photo of the busa (which they pretty much just cut-n-paste).

Questions:
Why didn't the idiot just scroll down a bit after their initial search blunder?
How did the police know it was a 749 and not a 999? If they got close enough to tell the difference, what is the number plate of the bike?

Journalism at its finest.

How did the police know it was a 749 and not a 999?

Because the bike had already been report stolen - see my earlier post in this thread with a link to another thread about the bike having been stolen. It belonged to an acquaintance of someone here on KB by the sounds of it.

Shit reporting... my latest pet gripe...

And most people form their opinions based on the tripe.
