Other than looking at two side by side, I'm not sure how you could tell. You got any close-up pics?

You could try www.carjam.co.nz put the number plate in, you might need to pay the extra $12 for all the extra information, but it can be handy to have the history of your bike, it should note on there any change of colour etc that has occured in the past, and thus youll know!
Was it the one that was on trade me for 3 or 4 grand? looked quite nice if it was

Hey mate, I worked for a Honda dealership for 3 or so years and never came across a factory smokin joes paintjob or anything to suggest one had been released officially. I suspect its a custom paintjob.

You can also get a full fairing kit for them, saw them advertised a few days ago, cant remember where though

As far as I know of, Smokin Joe Replicas (SJR) only come out in 95-6 and 97-98, which means it would be on F3 version.
I believe F2 never came in SJR version.
Yes yours do look good. much better than the standard red-bllue-white colour

certainly does look nice, I found the place i saw the replica fairings, theyre 1250 a set, so someone was obviously very fond of the bike, and probably looked after it if they were prepared to spend good coin on it. Hope you enjoy the hell out of it, I know how much fun I have on mine!
