Hey guys, moving into a new place and was wondering who to go with, i checked out a flat and he said thier combined homephone and broadband was only 35 a month....but lost his number so cant check who with!
But i assume that was a low cap, ideally i want more than 20gb a month...
Anybody know what kind of plans are out there, who to avoid etc etc.
Cheers: Mark

You do pretty much still get what you pay for, but PM me your number and I'll see what I can do. I work for Telstra Clear.

Good luck in this country - they are all much of a muchness
I think we are with Scodafone, through ihug... We were with Slingshit, but they sucked.
Just look on their various websites. I hear good things about Orcon.

swapped from telecom to telstraclear a few months ago. Bill is about the same $160/mth for phone/tolls/2 cells and broadband but with telecom we were capped at 3G and now we have 10. Trade-off is it doesnt slow down and you get charged another $12 for 10G over the 10. With kids using the internet we use about 9.5/mth

any idea how much the base price is without the tolls and cells?

I'm with telecon.
Download cap: As much as I want.
Upload: As much as I want.
$50 per month.
Unfortunately it is a discontinued plan, and I'm stuck with throttled torrent speeds.

Telecoms plans are alot better than they used to be i would look at them...
Snap internet also has some decent plans. Xnet i would say avoid to many down times and crap international speeds from personal experance.

Telecom has improved, a lot. I'd recommend looking at them first - it may be slightly more expensive, but remember you are getting the most reliable connection, 24 hour support, and free wireless modem for your $$.
Orcon would be second choice.

Been with several over the years. We were with Islug, who wen downhill very quickly once Slowdaphone got involved. Bailed out of there to Slingshit. Big mistake - unreliable, slow, lots and lots of time outs, drop outs, etc. This is with equipment and wiring that has been rock solid for years with 4 other ISPs in 2 cities.
The Helpdesk doesn't. Despite being an ISP, they don't appear to read email - for complaints I am going to write them a letter, on paper...
In the 20 or so years i have been using the internet, and BBSs and Fidonet before that, they are by far the worst ISP, ever. Cheap, but that is no use if you can't connect.
