Hi everybody, my names Joseph and I live in the great Dannevegas:bleh:
Anyway I'm 15 this April the 3rd and am looking at getting my motorbike license ect..gear and all that but unfortunately my budget isnt that big being 14 haha. I have ridden 4 wheelers and a few 2 wheelers for a couple of years and also as a pillion a few times on bigger bikes so am looking to get into it myself.Anyway just thought I'd come out from hiding in the shadows and say hello to you all:niceone:
Edit:Any recommendations for a starter 250?

Hi there, good luck with the bike search, probably price will be a big factor, but if you buy something that will potentially keep you happy for a bit longer it'll be worth it in the end. Just make sure you leave yourself enough money to buy good gear, helmet, gloves, boots, pants and jacket, bribe your folks/grandparents/aunts and uncles etc to buy you or contribute to buying you some gear for your birthday or something (show them some of the really yucky pics of what road rash and head injuries look like). Ride safe and have fun!!:niceone:

Welcome to KB!

As Trudes said....

Remember to include in your total budget allowance for god gear.

An older Kawasaki or Suzuki 4 cyl 250 would be a great bike. Well made Jappa bikes that keep going. If you want a second opinion on a bike, there are lots of helpful, knowledgeble people on this site that would probably help you find something decent to ride on.

Put a wanted to buy add in the Bike ads forum.

Gidday Sonicjoe, welcome to KB  Contact NZSarge and Sugilite, they're both over your way and could help sort you out. Oh, and keep your eye on the Manawatu threads, always something going on!

Hi guys, thanks for the warm welcome. Its no problem getting a bike as Dad was a biker for around 15 years and wants me to get good gear. I like the look of the Quasi stuff but seems to be just a bit expensive for me. Will get in touch with NZSarge and Sugilite:rockon:

Hey SJ, welcome to KB.
Recommendations for a learner bike... Depends on your budget which does'nt sound like you'll have a lot to spend, agree with the people here, Good gear is all important the best stuff you can afford. What sort of bikes hold the most interest for you? Sports/Cruiser/Adventure?

Welcom Sonicjoe
As trudes said get good gear. People that I know have dealt with Quasi have not been sorry.

I bet on Hondas for good first bikes....I am biased of course.
Its cool that you have a dad that understands your passion for bikes :2thumbsup
