Head off thursday night got to Bombay Hills at 2:30 am
Set up my pit at Puke at 6 am!
Rain for the testday so I changed to wets and took the bike out on track.
Bike was running really bad mucked around all day chasing faults turns out that my coil was disconnected!:(
Saturday Practice:
Witht eh bike sorted I went on track and was getting used to rding the SV round Puke compared to the 125 its so much differnt you cant stay as flat out on it as I could on 125got down to 17's 7 seconds slower than last year really annoyed I came inand adjusted my front end trying to get it to behave a bit better,
Went for a walk down to the back straight and spent a few momments to remember Derek.
Saturday
Went out for Qualifying got down to 16's but the bike was really really bad it was hitting bumps and getting into a uncontrolable bounce I finshed this session were I expected last. I run off to see Robert Taylor and didnt get to see him until I was on the dummy grid for my race he gave my front end a push and told me I had no rebound at all and that explained the massive bouncing effect I was having.
I got out to the race and did the best I could and just finished the 10 lapper,
After the race I caught up with Robert and we discussed a way of trying to "Fix" a quick way to get me through the weekend,
We ended up running 20/50 engine oil in the front forks so went to the mighty Warehouse and got my supplys.
Sunday:
Race 1 looked like the rain was stopped but a wet track with blue sky coming out and 10 laps with the muggy heat I opted to stay on dry tires as I thought by the end off the race the track would be 90% dry.
Got to the dummy grid and everyone rolled up with wets Dammit.
I went out and got a real good start actually everyone at the back seemed to be taking it easy off the line i quickly hooked gears to try stop it from lighting up the rear wheel into turn 1 tip in and nearly lost it there was no grip on the sides what so ever,
Yellows out at the chicane and Sam Love was jumping the fence after his off.
I nearly also lost it here as I got on the gas and got the quivers going on.
By about lap 4 the track was really dry from the kink to mid corner turn 1 so I could really give the COnti race attacks a good pushing and they loved it and so did I but I had to slow down for the chicane as it was still really wet here and real slippery and every lap I would get the quivers on
FInally after being lapped by almost everyone the chequer came out and I crossed the line was just happy I finished upright considering the conditions.
The NZ TT:
I was actually really keen to do the best I could and see if I could get the full 15 laps in with this shocking front end.
I ended up going down 2 laps to Glen Williams and Glen Skatchill, and on my lap board 2 laps to go the red came out as there was a rider out cold at the hair pin.
So I finished my weekend upright in one piece and feeling a lot better after what happened there last year I really had to go back and ride to get it off my mind.
So now the forks are going to Robert at CKT to get him to rebuild them and fix the problems and try get a really mint bike for round 1 of the winter series.
SO a big thank you to:
AMCC
Team JDR
Dad my mate Daniel, and my brother William,
Sargent Motorcycles
Conti Tires
and a big thank you to Robert Taylor for being so helpful all weekend.
So bring on round 1 of winter series sorry report isnt in much detail but not much really went on for me I rode the races all by myself.
If any one has any pics of pro twin #159 or 125 GP#132 Id be keen
