Cute Japanese promo film about it.
Note the Coldplay style tune behind the Japanese singing.

Yay, the new model is fuel injected.
That seems to be the only substantial difference, other than a couple of different plastic panels, and the dials now have digital odo, twin trip meters, and clock.

nice find sam, I like the new look. But it's bit pricey :( 556,500 yen for VTR style I (NZ $11315.97) http://tinyurl.com/vtr250

I've always wanted to build a little adventure bike around a VT250 donk.

I've always wanted to build a little adventure bike around a VT250 donk.

It's a fantastic little motor. Goes great for a 250, sounds good, plenty of torques, and really reliable.

I was interested to see that the new fuel injected one is rated in the specs at the same fuel economy, but has slightly less power and less torque?!?! Odd.
I'd've expected more power, more torque, and better fuel economy.

(Edit: I'd say emissions ratings would be the reason, it'll probably have lower emissions.)

Ouch! You're right, that's frikkin' expensive... Especially considering that the brand new price for the current VTR when NZ officially brought it in was NZD$7995.

I rode mine like a mini Ducati and didn't pull many revs.
My brother found it could do 170kph at 13,000rpm and it sounded like a 2-stroke coming toward me :D

What's the world coming to when someone gets excited over a new 250!

Now if they grafted 3 of them into a 750cc V6, or 4 into a 1000cc V8 - I'd start stressing my undies.

Yes, I just saw the promo video. I might have to get a new one just so I can have that much fun on the beach too ;O) That "impression" video is pretty cool though, some ex racer fanging around on it.

+1

even a vtr 500 v4 would be mint, could nearly fit that into the 250 frame..

If it was a V4 then it wouldn't be a VTR, would it? ;)

Nice update, but I cant see how they came up with this new price figure. Way too pricy. I'd go for new ninja 250 instead if I had to have my restricted again.

Ooooh is that an Asian biker chick I see??? Where can I get myself one of those?!

Anyway... what's with that video? There is hardly any leaning at all, it's almost all straight roads and the corners they do go around they pretty much go around them upright, what's with that?? It's a motorcycle advertisement, they need knee down!! Haha... And she passed him on the left... doesn't look like safe riding at all...

Unfortunately, cute Japanese girl does not come with the bike... though she did seem quite excited by it.
You wanna see someone actually RIDING it, here's a video of an ancient Japanese GP rider on it:
http://www.honda.co.jp/VTR/impression/image/impression.swf
And giving his impressions of it... But you'd need to understand Japanese, except for "VWEE-TEE-AAHR, FEER THE REEER!".

Yes, but he's an old Japanese man, not a cute Japanese girl. Why is the vid not of the cute girl riding it like that... disappointing. Although near the end of the vid where you can see her face closer-up, it seems she's not actually that cute, and probably not very young either. Oh well.

Good to see they're keeping up the production on them :D

Wouldn't mind the fuel injection, but if they make the same or less power there ain't no point getting a new one :woohoo:
