Anyone got one?
Come across one today that seemed quite reasonable for its condition and age. I like the oldskool look and it uses the LS400 Savage engine so a LS650/S40 donk transplant is very feasable.
Specs although nothing startling, down on my GB even, would make for quite economocal daily ride:
Overall Length: 2 110 mm (83.1 in)
Overall Width: 730 mm (28.7 in)
Overall Height: 1 040 mm (40.9 in)
Seat height: 780 mm (30.7 in)
Wheelbase: 1 430 mm (56.3 in)
Dry Weight: 159 kg (350 lbs)
Engine type: Air-cooled 396 cc SOHC, single-cylinder, 4 valves. 27 hp (20 kW)/ 7,000 rpm, 29 Nm (3,0 kg-m)/ 5,000 rpm.

Well they're probably not wrecking it anyway so I won't be able to have the brake :) Oh well, something else to add to the list of potential donors!
Sort of a Suzuki SR400. Quite unique styling really. I think I like it.

An absolute classic looking bike that I had forgotten about. I had an RD400 years ago, which was also a bute.

You can see why Triumph did so well with their reincarnated Bonnie.

The great thing about drum brakes is that you learn how to go faster, as well as some great avoidance techniques, simply because they might be good for one hard stop per day.

Ah, those were the days. My first bike, a CB160 had a twin leading shoe which took forever to set up. Had to detune it in the wet. Was in awe of those bikes like the MV which had 4 leading shoe numbers. God knows how they stopped in the wet but then I don't think one took an MV out in the rain.

Tempted by a tempter eh? (told ya it was not a GN400 engine, you have to buy the next coffee...)The LS400/650 donks have been around for it seems like forever-well early/mid 80s anyway. Dad had a LS650, his first and last new bike. Got rid of as it didn't suit his style of riding. Kept scrapping the muffler and pegs. This on the other hand..............

I like it too. Definitely needs 650 donk, clip-ons, single seat and mega. You'd have a great fun Rimutakas beast (except maybe the downhill attempts at braking )
