This is to counterbalance all the posts on the "don't you just hate it when..."
Gotta have some good with the bad. If this thread bombs then so be it, but as I am still a noob I’m finding all the good stuff, so here goes:

Don’t you just love it when –

- You have had a crappy day at work, and then you go downstairs and fire up your bike to ride home. (Waaaay better than car/public transport)
- The weather is good on the weekend and the traffic is light on a long ride.
- You are parallel to a car on an on-ramp to the motorway, twist the throttle and leave it in your dust.
- Pulling up to a biker pub (Puhoi) on a hot day and parking your baby with all the other machines there.
- Planning a ride for the next day

And away we go. :scooter:

I especially like the onramp bit

My favourite for the day...

Rock up at work a bit early...
So go get sommat from the shop.
Turns out there's onions in that delicious ham and cheese roll
Then work, at the dodgy asian vege shop... From 8-7pm.
Turn out I only get one break.
Only to cream my pants when I find out it's from 12 -2:30 :woohoo:

THE JOB IS GAY, BUT I LOVE LONG BREAKS!!!

Its 7.30, You start work at 8. Its at least a 30 minute drive from Howick to City in traffic. Get on your bike. Lane split the whole way. Arrive 10 minutes early laughing at the poor pricks who have probably moved 1k in the time it took you to get to work.

I'll second that. Lane splitting rocks.

I love the feeling of when my helmet first goes on. I guess I know because I'm sitting on the bike next.

I wonder if it would be wrong to wear my helmet from time to time during the day as I post on here....

AS a side note, yes I know motorcycle riders get head injuries hence helmets, and yes i know bicycle riders get head injuries hence helmets but surely car drivers without air bags get head injuries in a crash. There is certainly a lot to hit. Shouldn't helmets be compulsory in cars.

My god I just found the spell checker... who knew that was there? That should help my posting.

'Sorry sir/ma'am, I will have to ask you to remove that. I cannot identify you otherwise.'

I love thinking about moving the couch out and moving a bike in on a track stand.

In 4 weeks it becomes reality.

it is for me, I have a ranch slider into my bedroom, and it faces onto the road. The bike gets rolled inside and sleeps beside my bed every night!!!
Works great if youve been out at night, roll her into the room, go to bed half an hour later after a shower, and the bike has heated up the room!!!

A landlord once chucked me out of a flat because I was using the lounge to rebuild a bike...It wasn't dirty or anything - everything was pristine but the fucking bastard chucked me out all the same. Prick! :kick:

Don't you love it when...

you are trying to start an old bike that hasn't run for a while, and you're cranking it but it just doesn't want to fire, and the house you are doing it at is right next to a tennis club, and it's saturday morning so heaps of people are there then all of a sudden it backfires...
Women scream and kids are crying, me and my mate are trying hard not to piss ourselves as we roll around laughing :)

Until it occurs to you that 6 year olds think that Thomas the tank engine & that stupid purple dinosaur are cool. :Pokey:

Don't you just love it when you are getting on the motorway in the afternoon and some cage driver in a 6 litre Commodore floors it to beat you away from the lights, you follow him along the on-ramp onto the motorway and he races up to the back of another car to sit at 0 to 5 kph while you start lane splitting and happily cruise along at 40kph grinning to yourself like an imbecile. you get home 10 minutes later and he gets home 1 hour & 10 minutes later. Ah the power of a big V8, so good (at burning petrol) in peak Auckland traffic!

Don't you just love it when...

You turn the key on your new bike for the first time...

... and then every time after that.

It might sound like I am waxing poetic but I also love kicking the bike into first right before I take off... the "clunk" and the slight lurch it gives - always feels like this is about to be the best ride I ever took...

I love it when its a cool sunny day and little traffic along the nelson waterfront when the tide is in - sounds like a tall order but you'd be surprised as to how often it happens and its just fab when it does !

It's certainly beats riding or driving alongside the 'seaside' when the tide is out, that's for sure!!

Given I work at a port that ride/drive happens 5 sometimes 6 days a week....

I still have to come back to the lane splitting one....left it deliberately late this morning to get into the worst Auckland rush hour traffic I could.....It maybe added a minute to my time. Bikes rock!!

:bleh:Oh yeh....don't you love it when you go to work knowing you're going for a kick ass ride this evening...and your bike is just downstairs? I know I do!!

Dont you love it when:

The rain that appeared before the big planed ride disapears on the morning on of the ride.

Getting your knee down for the very first time, without trying to do it.

Sitting in the hot pool with a cold beer after a big ride.

The first time you ever road a ducati.

Yet another vote for lane splitting (so good from the Mount to Tauranga that i purposly go at rush hour!)
