Some guys at uni have started up a MotoSoc and they are having their first ride on Sunday. I told them I would post it up on KB and see if any of you guys want to go.

-We will be leaving the UCSA carpark at 11.00 am....
- Bring $5 for the BBQ and beer for after the ride at 21 Euston St off Riccarton Rd
- Those that dont come on the ride are welcome to come to the BBQ just to chat or simply find some friends, be there bout 5 pm!!

I forgot about that, I won't be going cause I was invited out to a thing tomorrow night.

They want to organise some weekly rides and also some trackdays.
Also so dirtbike rides too.
I'll post up details as I get them and give you a report on how it goes on Sunday, ie Bodycount.

Yesterday was perfect :sunny: :bleh: Warm, NO wind, not too much traffic. :wari:
Is this going to be a weekly thing then? I have negotiated a treaty with 'she who must be obeyed'. The terms of the treaty are that I will be allowed out for a play on my bike every second week. This is to facilitate her getting out without screaming kids etc by herself, so I feel it is fair and reasonable.

It was one of those conditional passes. You know the one, "You can go but I promise to whinge and moan for the next six months and never let you forget the weekend that you left me and the kids, even though we've only been in the country for a little over three months and you've went away with the lads for two consecutive weekends a month ago, and your just about to go off for three weeks on a globe trotting piss up".

Which is fair enough I guess, as I'm off travelling across Asia next month for three weeks, then on to Europe. So I can't really complain. In other words, I didn't think it was fair on my family or my ear drums to go.

Great ride yesterday, it riding with everyone showed me just how much of a noobie I am at riding :shake: , thanks to all who invited me along, I will def be along for more, I am sorta hoping that I wont be the tail end charle for ever!

Glad you enjoyed Dave and don't worry about being at the tail, we've all been there.

The point of these rides is to enjoy them in your own way and your own pace, and Akaroa can be quite a challenging route, so it's best to take your time as those hairpins can scare the crap out of you, especially when you get blown around the way we were yeterday.

On Saturday I discovered I've been doing some really stoopid things with the rear suspension on R1's grandad- should be quicker now, prolly not much quicker, but quicker all the same :niceone:

I noticed on Sat that I was having to brake deep into corners after turning it in- nothing serious, just scrubbing a bit of speed as the bike didn't feel settled. Turns out it had bugger all rebound damping, so I guess I was waiting for it to stop bouncing. Why is it that I can hop in a car and pick holes in the suspension, but I get on a bike and haven't got a clue?

They had the R6 parked in front of there table on club day, they must begged, borrowed or stolen it.

If we sold all the bikes from uni on that ride we could almost afford to buy half of Aaron's R1. (My bike fit in well)

hmmm, seem to remember a mate of mine had $15K on a student loan and he blew the lot on bikes, buying and selling, getting stuff out of Japan and floggin shit off, at one stage he had a GSXR1100W, a ZXR400SP, an RG50 and some other shitter sitting in my garage when he was flatting with us! Poor student, my arse!!!! All good though, as I didnt have a bike at the time, well, one that went, so used to take his gasaxer for a spin now and then :niceone:

Pic does look a little similar to yours danderous, but mine I can guarentee is going quicker, as I didn't see your machine pass me at Ruapuna. As for R1Aaron, well, he can take the piss out of me - because he is quicker

Anyone who is quicker than me is fully allowed to take the piss out of me, but if you are slower.........................well maybe by the time I get a new bike you will be faster too, and can join the ranks of taking the piss.

Sunday Akaroa ride all good......nevermind the wind - it really ain't no prob when in the hills and thats where the fun is at.

Well, she has only been ridden to church on Sundays. Got a Yoshi RS3, legally braided front lines, 16K on the clock, and in bloody great condition.
I just finished polishing her before she goes into Sportzone on Friday, and damn she looks good........almost gave me a semi.......oh well have to go and take it out on the human missus now....bugger eh

Please excuse the bad spelling as well really, I do ride a gixxer after all
