Managed to blag a ticket to the Warriors at the weekend and ended up in the members lounge after the game. The place was packed and eveyone was whooping it up after the boys gave the Eels a good hard thrashing.

Then, all of a sudden, the band stops playing and Steve Price walks into the room. The MC has a few words, Steve says a few thank you's and then proceeds to walk through the crowd stopping to have a chat / shake hands / have piccie taken / sign autographs for absolutley anyone who wanted it.

The geezer had an ice pack strapped to his leg and had just played 80 minutes of top flight NRL (his 300th game) but still made time for everyone. That, my friends, is a really nice and solid guy.

I'm going to upset a few people now but you dont see those molly coddled rugby union blokes doing that, especially the Up-Their-Own Arses All Blacks or even the Blues. Just the same with the Premier League footballers, not many of them put themselves among the fans.

I was very impressed with the way Steve Price handled the whole thing and how he made himself available to all. The kids in the room were blown away, really nice touch...

So, thats my 2c for this week, back to the book writing....

Missing you already,,,,:2thumbsup

Cool to see he is in touch with the fans, mate took his nephew from New Plymouth years ago to see the warriors, his nephew wanted to see Frano Botica, waited ages after and the big headed wanker walked past the kid, ignoring heaps of so called fans.

Worked years ago in company which had AJ Whetton as a rep for us,met him just as he was making it into Auckland and almost the all blacks, nice down to earth guy, totally different 25 yrs ago.

Heard a lot of good things about him - apparently, he's being considered for an Honorary Kiwi title......
