A "certain" publication recently did a comparison of the 05 jap 600s. The results are a bit startling in the "Actual Weight" category! I thought the GSX-R600 was the lightest 600, but not so!

Avg. Best Avg. Best Actual
Bike Roadcourse Dragstrip Dyno Weight
--------------------------------------------------------------
CBR600RR 1:59.130 10.93@125.2 (10.93@125.2) 104.11Hp / 44.19LbFt 427 Lbs
ZX600R 1:59.388 10.75@126.9 (10.75@126.9) 110.42Hp / 47.38LbFt 423 Lbs

Well you can instantly discount the Kumandsukme because it's a 636, not a 600. That's just plain cheating.

The weight of the bikes isnt really that important compared to each other. The difference is half a tank of fuel or in some cases a couple of pints of beer.

Hmmm, let's see 636... You get an extra 10Hp for the same money and a lighter bike, it aint cheating, it's smart.

But look again, are you sure that isn't the zx6rr ? coz the 2005 ZX636 has 136 HP !

That 136hp is most likely at the crank, eaquating to the 110hp at the wheel.

And the GSXR600 came last! :shake:

but then said:

Overall results are:
Suzuki fourth, Honda third, Kawasaki second and Yamaha first. Congratulations to Yamaha, their bike took the overall victory, against some stellar competition. <o =""></o>

What? How the heck did the fastest bike finish second and the best track bike finish third? It would appear that three of our testers just felt "right" on the Yamaha. If you can deal with a few grating vibrations and ain't skeered by the 636, then the Kawasaki is obviously the right choice for you. Then again, if you are new to the racetrack, or just want to get down to some serious lap time refinement, the Honda might be the way to go. In the end, It all comes down to our personal experiences and expectations, really. Our riders whole-heartedly endorse all of these bikes. However, after nearly a month of testing, thousands of dollars in expenses, countless discussions and arguments, setbacks, solutions and negotiations; we do hereby declare the obvious winner to be.... you!

Not really, the extra 5 or 6hp make all the difference.........

.......... in getting to work in the mornings :spudwhat:

The main thing in buying these bikes are LOOKS & SOUND
Pipes out the back, and a mint paint job (i mean their standard paint job) on the cbr look really fricken cool :yeah:

Apparently you don't have to be a newbie to go well on a Honda. The REALLY good riders for Ten Kate Honda took :first: and :second: in the World Super Sport Championship last year. :finger:
