Hold fire as i know of one that may well be for sale shortly and you would look hard to find a better one,its mine and maybe im biased but it really is a nice one compared to any.Works turned to shite big time and somethings got to give, not practical to sell one of the cars etc,ive other bikes but thats not going to work, this thing is well set up and has an endless amount of aftermarket stuff and enough spares to almost build another TL:laugh:hate to do it but may well be a needs must,as i said if theres anyone thinking then hold fire a short while, not definate but looks like it will be.Maybe should ave put this in online trading but its not a definate thing so...........Click avatar for a pic of it.

I know what you mean about the work thing....fecken slow here also, talking to someone the other day about it and they said ''you may have to sell your bike''....na!
Circumstances are that, if I was to sell the bike, it would only me and not the business, so it stays.
Its tough out there though mate...I had no work yesterday or friday but the rest of the week looks ok as does Monday. Day by Day really.
Best of luck buddy, it certainly is Fine Example!!!

Works turned to shite big time and somethings got to give, not practical to sell one of the cars etc, dont be a wanker man, ya only need one car and I notice you use plural.

Work will return... and if you sell something like the green maggot then you will never replace it unless you spend twice the sale price, and that wont happen... give up the faggs ya poof.

18th March 2009, 08:02
Well... where to start...

How much do you want for it? And are you likely to want to buy it back?

What do you do for a living, perhaps there's another option in your industry? (i.e. someone might know of another job)

Sell that shitty ute! Falcons are a dime a dozen in this country! At least you'll have a hope of getting what it's worth, you'll not get half of what the TL cost to build.

BTW, this bike was TL of the Month (http://www.tlzone.net/forums/tl-month/93254-tlotm-winners-07-a.html) over at TLZone in March 07.

Mate if it comes to selling it buying it back wouldnt be possible in the forseeable future, problem is if work goes belly up then theres a whole heap of people looking for bugger all jobs in this small town,a lot of little industries have layed off or gone belly up combined with the freezing works losing 2 chains very early,if the mill loses 130 as predicted then things are going to get tough.Theres a few different things i could do,selling the ute or the other car is one of them.Been down the bank this morning just to confirm the mortgage protection thingy is good to go if need be which it is,though it doesnt kick in for 42 days which is a little annoying but no matter least its good for 6 months. As for what the TL is worth, buggered if i know,im realistic though its a 10 year old bike edit actually its 11.A bloke down here reckons hed cough up 8 for it which is pretty good dosh,it shouldnt bother me but the fact that he will just trash the thing annoys me.

Plus: you couldn't be the poster boy for Kolourcare any more either

Quit the track bike, the XS750, and pull the pin on that thruxton you've got coin in :msn-wink:

To be honest the ute is a white whale you'd never get what that thing owes you plus at present it's just guzzling gas for you

The TL is your release bud so don't cripple yourself by cutting it free :nono:

That is true.

Try and make sure that you won't have any regrets from whichever way you choose to get around this whole financial mess.

Unless you need both of your cars and all of your other stuff I'd think you'd be better off selling something to which you are less attached.

Don't sell the bloody thing, Done similar things in past and have regreted, last one was my well set up 70 series landcruiser, sold for stuff all compared to the time/bits invested. Should have parked it up under a cover. .

NighthawkNZ
20th March 2009, 20:54
Don't sell it mate... its your pride and joy, you have spent many hours, and $$$ to get it to where it is now...

Selling it is only a short term fix when times get tuff... and then when times are good it takes longer to get it back in the saddle for an bike...

I am sure there would be other things you could sell that aren't wanted, to help... computer... stop internet (no kb), sell your soul...

If you do sell it you will regrett it... (been there done that and I did regret it)

Got to agree with everyone else on this. Don't sell the TL, you've spend time and money creating the bike you want and if you sell all your doing is throwing all that away plus as you know you'll never get anything like what its really worth. Keep it. How about looking instead at your other vehicles and work out what you really have them for, like if its not being used 90% of the time do you really need it ? A few years ago I had a bad period on the dole and sold a bike and strange tho it seems although I've got another bike I still miss the old one (is that weird or what:crazy:). Anyway all the best and hope everything turns out OK for you Mike. Arn't you close to retirement anyway !:dodge:

A arse of a situation.

I'd like to say if it was mine, I'd put on a mini-skirt, wax my chest and stand on a street corner offering $10 hand-jobs before I sold it. (WTF is a hand-job worth these days?????).

But

If you have kids - you sell what ever you can to keep them in clothes and food.

Hopefully it won't be necessary.

$ wise $8k minimum - dealers sell ratty ones for $8.

Fuck mate that's a real bummer. Personally I'd be selling cars, kidneys and kids before my beloved TL:laugh:. Why don't you part it out - I need some 'busa 6pots and master??? I've got a billet sprocket cover, braided lines and TLR swinger on the way, and those brakes are the last mod I need to do for a while (I'm fabbing my own undertail at the mo too).

Isn't the TL an awesome platform to mod...
