Possible answer:

I heard that Sully60 took the bucket up the Hill climb and it took the contagious! (Edit For AllanB pronounced cunt ages)

Yes folks I now have the somewhat dubious honour of posting the slowest time ever recorded since the inception of this fine event.

I didn't really have any goals other than not falling off and to have a good time, posting a good time on the other hand would be a different story.

I was also riding an RG150 kindly supplied by Koba so at least there was some competitive aspect with the 'sled being the only bucket entered. So I was thinking maybe I'd whoop me some Str8jacket ass and maybe have a tussle with Quallman for 2nd 150cc Streetstock. I had no illusions that Weaver would have the pace to take it on the day, I'm quite staggered by the pace he actually showed, well done that man!

I suppose my main aim for the weekend was to make sure Sherie enjoyed herself and her bike was looked after. I wanted her to enjoy this event it's something quite special even without the rally side of things. As most of you know Trudes and my lovely lady were amongst the volunteers helping out with the timing last year, so whilst she knows the mechanics of how the event runs I wanted her to experience it from the riders seat and catch that 'If I just get one more run' bug.
That didn't take too long:yes:

So the much vaunted first run of the slippery 'sled in all it's megaphone heralded glory was set for it's first run and I turn up to the start line a minute too late:doh:
Have wee waa session in the helmet start the engine and turn the waa up some more, no one can hear me, I can't even hear myself.

Get to the line for the next run in time and it's all systems go. The bike is running the tallest possible gearing, far taller than I've ever run so the start progress is slow but steady with the clutch finally home I hook second gear and glance to the right to see Koba's Mum and Dad so I give them a descent wave and smile just as the gearbox drops from second into neutral, the engine spins way into the redline and I lurch forward one handed and foot stamping away at the gear lever trying to hook second again, what a farkin fool!
Some kids accost me in the pits later and were adamant that I was really lucky not to fall off, I didn't put up too much of an augment to that.<_<

Apart from that the only other moment of note on my first run was having to change down gear going into the Cliffhanger corner to maintain momentum, strange feeling:no:

So about three minutes later I arrive at the top.
Time 4.01,xxx, no that's not a typo, four minutes, one second and a few of them other bits and I felt everyone of them!

That's not really worth the effort so I switch to the RG and take it up on the next timed run. This thing has quite a misfire and to be honest is only slightly faster than the bucket, 29 seconds faster than the bucket and about 16 slower than Str8jacket at this stage the fastest 150 rider.
So with some fiddling in the pits Koba and I find a few little problems and go about rectifying them and I pull up for the next timed run.
Much better, the bike runs cleanly now if a little flat.
Have a fun wee wobble and end up with the time 3.13, still slower then either Hels or Kyle, oh well.

At least there's alcohol being served and with the last run being cancelled ( sorry Racerhead) now it's serving time!

It's funny how time plays tricks, it seemed to take an age to get up that hill today but when it came to being out of leathers into normal clothes and sitting down with a beer I have no memory of it taking any time at all:sherlock:
So after helping change a tyre or two with TLjimmy, some good banter with a few old mates and some new it was dinner time. The chicken 'surprise' turned out to be a good feed and with a few more good drinks and a top band:headbang: a great night was had, even if a few fire stick admirers raised the wrath of Hels unslept!:gob:

Sunday:
Sunday dawned crisp and cool with the promise of being a much sunnier and warmer, everybody seemed to get through the night in good shape, well everybody but sinfull and were keen to firing themselves up the hill, me meh, I'm not to fussed today I'd be happy just to help out around the various pits here and there help with stands, massage some shoulders, check glove laces, fix cuts above eyes etc.

Hels hassles me a bit showing me the time sheets from yesterday, talking it up and saying shit like it wouldn't be the same without you, whatever:tugger::bleh:
So I toe the line and after a slightly fluffy launch the little RG that could is hauling nearly it's maximum GLW up Te Wharau Rd.

Entering the Cliffhanger corner the bike misses slightly just as I backshift for the scrub, exiting the corner the engine misses again, I didn't think this was a nipping up feeling so kept the throttle wide until I heard the nip and before I could get the clutch in, seizure!
Damn, I've seized Koba's bike just before the start of the winter series:no:
I'm so sorry dude I really should've caught it in time.

Being at the back of the field I don't wait to long for the road to open so I starting freewheeling down the hill until I feel the hand of the Ducati mounted god Nicko on my back providing safe passage back to the pits.

That's pretty much my day done. I had some kind offers to ride spare bikes made, thanks Deano it means a lot bro!
None of these managed to eventuate due to the final run being cancelled. I had a play with the bucket and took it up again in between, twenty seconds faster this time, so that was an improvement, but still painfully slow.

Time for more liquor and more good banter, and finally prize giving.
All good times!

Thanks to:
Gary and Dina, for all the hard work and hours you two put into making this happen.
All the helpers, marshals, timekeepers, bar staff, band, and all the other people who give up their precious time to make this happen.
Deano, again for your work with the event but also for the offer of a skid on the SV, I don't think I would've have troubled your time:no:.
Koba, for the loan of the RG and being a bloody good bugger about me giving it the roger.

Flame and Str8jacket for sponsoring my lovely wife. This made the whole weekend possible for both of us, thank you very much!

And most of all my lovely lady, seeing that sparkle in your eye and that nervous energy building up in anticipation of the next run made the whole weekend thoroughly worthwhile!

contagious |kənˈtājəs|
adjective
(of a disease) spread from one person or organism to another by direct or indirect contact : a contagious infection.
• (of a person or animal) likely to transmit a disease by contact with other people or animals.
• figurative (of an emotion, feeling, or attitude) likely to spread to and affect others : her enthusiasm is contagious.

So I made a sentence or three ......

Paul's doctor told him the bumps on his penis were not pimples, in fact they were very contagious.

Jane was worried that she may have given Paul something contagious as she had been peeing razor blades for a couple of weeks now and she had slept with him last week after Friday night drinks.

Rupert had had his eye on Paul for weeks - Pauls laughter was contagious and Rupert was definitely going to make his move after Paul had had a few beers after work on Friday night........

Now I read that as
Sunday: blah blah ..... massage some shoulders, check love laces, fix cuts above eyes etc.

Thinks to myself .. what are love laces?

oops took another look and it was Glove laces - but WTF - what are glove laces - were you lot wearing tassles?

Now that would be contagious - not

Sitting at the top we hear a bike coming and we wait to see which one it is. We wait and wait, the noise remains steady. Still we wait. Then a little blue bike comes around the corner and all questions are answered.
Well done on your title, its gangsta as.
