Wasn't really gonna ride this morning - had a lot to do - but the sky was clear as, the road was dry (at my place anyway!), it was warm etc etc...ahhh just a little run won't make me late...

So set off. And the first omen came - in the form of a pedestrian (that's a first) who tried to run across the road in front of me without even looking - adult of the female persuasion she was an' all.....she probably changed the undies when she got home...didn't think the bike was that quiet...
Omen No 2. Got to the road out of town and bugger me it was wet...real wet. "Water truck?" I wondered (there's road works out that way)...Omen No 3 - fog. Just up the road a bit was yet another good old Hamilton fog bank...seems it had rained everywhere but my place.
And so it went on. The road was full of truck and trailer units. There were many cars without lights in the fog that remained invisible until you were right on them and on the home run I came up behind a friggin' grader with a ten mile long tail of vehicles behind him...
I shoulda stayed at home...it was still dry when I got back.

All rides are good rides but HELL you have to look hard to find the good in that one.

Sometimes the Omens are good....went across the Akl bridge today at lunchtime to test my new jacket...cos of course the only way to test it is to ride with it on.

There was an accident in the southbound lane (not good), which meant I 'had' to keep heading norf to get back and around the Kumeu loop (good), which turned out to be almost an hour, and with minimal traffic. Didn't wanna lane split when there was an accident in amongst the chaos somewhere, so I waved bye bye to all the frustrated cagers backed up for many miles, and rode my trusty steed for a lovely sunny lunchtime ride in what started out as a 10 minute ride. Just got back.

Jacket works well.:2thumbsup
