What a weekend!
Saturday
We rolled up nice and early and we set up camp for the weekend. Getting a whole 3 hours sleep the night before hand, preparing bikes etc.
This was to be my first cliffhanger, and i was going to try my very best to get a reassemble time.
A couple of familiarization runs later, and it wasn't too scary at all.
The day went rather okay, however i was plauged with a major shortfall of power. Reducing my top speed to around about 130kmh! Still managing an average speed of around 115kmh. Only off the throttle for the cliffhanger goal was achieved during the day. However i was still behind Str8 Jacket much to my embarrassment.
I was happy apart, from the RG spewing its guts at the top, on the first run because i had overfilled the oil, and it generally almost blowing up. But being a 2 stroke fan, i have grown used to this.
I figured out overnight the problem with the top speed was my bad, It was because i was too lazy too replaced the choke cable .and therefore the choke being permanently on. Shoulda listened to Koba! Somewhat fixed it up then missioned to Paraparaumu too catch up with a friend.
Of course enduring a bit of shit for being beaten by a girl before i left. :wari:. Well done Hels!
Anywho...
Sunday
Sunday rolled along, i rolled out of bed and drove another hour and a bit. Fairly tired, but i woke up as i got closer!.
On the familiarization run, i concluded that the RG was running not too shabby but still a bit off.
My first run up the hill was much quicker than the day before as i had some more top end. Cutting 11 seconds of the time on Saturday.
Unfortantely the two other RG's ironically (because mine was in the worse mechanical condition) shat em selfs! A gearbox and a top end seizure, left me as the only 150 left.
I had too keep the 150 pride! Against the 250 4's.
Obviously allan was aboustely no where insite being well and truly ahead.
The run was 3:00:9.
Next run i manage too take that down to 2:59:2. Only accidentally gassing off in one spot. I had a couple more run's too cut a couple of seconds off my time, too hopefully be well out of the way off the other 250's.
The next run started with my best start off the weekend, i was flying! Pinned right up too the cliffhanger corner. Going in a wee bit hot. I promptly lost the back and then the front on the very exit and low sided. I myself went sliding parallel with the fence. Unlike my RG which felt like it needed a bit of a flying lesson. It unfortunately failed at this and promptly fell a measured 5m's. :bye:. Im glad it wasn't me!
Got the final results back at the end of the day and i managed to keep the 150's pride by 0.029s :), ending up 2nd in Streetstock!
Cheers all for the weekend!
Now back to plastic welding my front fairing up!
