This looks like to good day.

Anyone attending who wants to share a garage send me a PM. They are normally $50 per day and there's enough room for 3 or 4 bikes.

Unlike the Suzuki days us Honda riders are secure in the knowledge we are riding superior bikes and are happy for you to come along and receive the learn should you wish :bleh:

We are also secure in our sexuality :grouphug:

Should be a great day with Aaron Slight, Craig Shirriffs and Fred Merkel there to give us the learn. There's also the first look at the 2009 CBR600RR with ABS which they will be "previewing and demonstrating". Don't know if that means that some of us get to ride it....

I've only managed to get to the HRC trackdays recently - Manfeild and Ruapuna, and with only three groups, not so many entries and mainly older(?) riders, there's been heaps of track time (they haven't stopped the sessions for lunch). I've used all the fuel I brought which had never happened before!! Just got the feeling Sunday won't be the same.....

Might finally meet you!!! (And I'll be on the Suzuki should you wish to give me the learn...)

:2thumbsup gonna be great!

Yeah man will keep an eye out. Blue/white gixxer in your pic?

Will probably be in the same group as I figure after 4 MotoTT days I can't really say I'm in the newbie group anymore.

I've just finished checking over the bike and packing. New M3's front and back that'll get scrubbed in on the ride down.

Weather is looking good :sunny:

Yup, that's me. Depending on your insurance we may be in the same group. HRC run a separate group for trackbikes. Those insured thru HRC are only covered if they ride in either of the road bike groups.

what a top day that was. The event was rather over subscribed which meant quite a few bikes on the track and a rather confusing change to a 4 group format at one point... but all good anyway.

High point for me was getting a full session of 1 to 1 instruction with Fred Merkel... what a top guy. He showed me a few lines which really worked.... just great to watch him ride too. Loooked so effortless... Also, I rode one session on Aaron Slight's Fireblade... well ok it was Honda's bike really but it is the bike he uses which is good enough for me. Its an awesome bike by the way - Way more power, better brakes and handling than my 07 Blade...

Weather was great - plenty of track time.... even lunch was thrown in... Just a cracking day all round. Really enjoyed it.

Well, I was right. That was the worst HRC track day that I'd ever been on. That doesn't mean it was bad though, just that every other has been much better. This day was fully subscribed so that made for a crowded track, but for some reason there was a HUGE variety of talent present in every group. I don't recall ever seeing this at any other trackday. There were many stories of close calls, though there was only one incident during the day as far as I know, so that was good.

This also made Aaron's usual follow the leader exercise a bit of a farce. Many were too slow to keep up so the groups got mixed up and it was just unruly.

HRC have had fully subscribed days before - the Elite Day in Taupo last year - but that was an excellent day!!

Still, it was a fun day - weather was great, good company, and met a few more good people. Rob and Robyn do a great job for Honda and the HRC - they do so many events from Kids Camp Outs to South Island Tours, travelling all over the country... Thanks guys!!

I thought we all knew Honda riders prefer to come from behind? :buggerd: :msn-wink:

Good question though if we're serious for a nano-second. I must admit my interest in NZSBK results is limited to how you guys went because you're KB "locals".

I really only just had my interest tickled in the last few months (thanks to team LG's wonderful shameless promotion) and the season is already over. Shit.
