Well the search was long and interesting. I ended up with something I didn't think I'd even like. I was talked into a test ride on a Ducati super sport 400, I got on it thinking what the F its only a 400 and a tempremental italian thing and got off it with a grin a mile wide. Shes not the fastest girl at the ball but 100% fun factor, corners better than anything I've ever ridden and I'm totally smitten.
I asked a Duc expert about it and was told easy to work on and not too expensive to fix. Only real issues are electrical plugs vibrating out of their connections and was told to use good oil. Oh yeah and I discovered tonight on the way home that it doesnt tank slap you in the nuts, it tank slaps you in the stomach.

So now I have two unusual bikes in my garage, ever wonder why they call me insanity? Heres your proof. Aint it sexy?

Yep, and most of us when they get a new toy, we take it home first, park it in the garage, grab a beer and ogle over our new beastie.
Not this fella.
Buys a bike and rides it straight to the Wednesday Night Rides.
Dedicated I tell ya.
Good on ya Mark :2thumbsup

Nice one.
I love the half faired version, looks great... reminds me of my 750ss :(

Glad you like em and your 100% right about the fun factor :) enjoy.

Now all you need is to let some of that sound out, you won't be dis-appointed!

Thanks, I'm really proud of her and I'm trying to learn all I can about Ducati now.

I lined her up next to a friends 750ss today and not very different, 80% the same. The first mod I'm thinking of is a louder pipe, but for some reason when we compared exhausts mine says ducati on it but its way louder than my mates 750 and the can end is way different. Also the header is different too. Did they do a factory loud can option?

LOL.
From experience of similar tank slappers, it does whack you in the nuts also, if you hit something, makes me voice go all squeaky just thinking bout it.

Nice addition. I saw there was also a 750ss there (or was it a 900), did you try that one too ?

I would say the pipe difference is due to the US / Euro emissions crap.
From the top of my head some countries had / did not have certain models, hence the difference.

Yeah the 750ss was choked up to hell with standard pipes. When I put after market slip ons on mine it made a massive difference, not only in volume levels but a little more power too.

You'll be surprised with what it'll be able to keep up with through twisties, a very quick nimble bike, enjoy.

Thanks, yeah I did try the 750 and didn't think it was as sharp in corners as the ss sh model. Good bike though.
