As most would have heard the 2008 ninja 250 sounds kinda pathetic (its a stock 250 tho),
so has any body done an exhaust change to something abit better?
if so, what would you recommend??? (best sound, power, look etc.)
cheers

I've heard a couple with yoshimura exhausts. One seemed to have a bigger bore (baffle removed?) and it sounded good. Cost you around $700 I think for a slip-on.

The yoshimura gives it a good sound and seems to be a popular choice in wellington for the Ninjas

Get a bigger bike, unless you plan on keeping your 250 once you have a full licence. Keep it stock till then and keep your money in your pocket. You will be glad you did when the time comes to uppgrade.
If you consider the price of an entire brand new bike vs the price of the component parts you will come to realize how little economic sense to buy parts for your bike...

just whack a long screwdriver up the pipe and get a hammer and smash an the baffles, that always works and is free

just be aware that more often than not, higher flow will mean less grunt atleast in the bottom end unless you then go and tune the thing - ie using a screwdriver is not entirely free

Whats the point in spending that money on a 250?

They're designed to be as quiet as possible.
Just live with it, the ones with aftermarket exhausts don't sound great either.

still sounds like a 250 though. Save your money for when you've got your full licence.

+1, the ones i've heard with slip-ons sounded crap.
Unless you buy it with an exhaust, save your money for other things, like the new bike you will want when you get your full.

Got a stainless steel Yoshimura slip-on exaust, I quite like the bass poppy sound of it at low revs, and come out really nice over 10k as well.
Although I agree I is dificult to find any economical sense in investing almost a grant ($900 fitted for mine, prices as been up a bit because of the currency rate with USD) for an exhaust, I was told it will make the resell a bit easier when time has come for a bigger bike. As far as I am concerned, it was totally a heart decision :D

250's have a badass sound to them with a noisy pipe on. I saw a screaming demon on a GT250R and that sounded like a big nasty dirtbike. Maybe you can hack a hyo SD pipe on?
