Anyone with an SV650 will be familiar with http://forums.sv650.org I performed the throttle position sensor (TPS) adjustment posted there (and in the service manual).
All I can say is if you have not done it - do it. It makes a world of difference.
Set the idle to about 1,300rpm and the fuel metering increases about 1,500rpm. Instantly noticed not only the smoothness at low revs, but higher revs to, when the bike doesn't have much of a load and not much throttle is being used.
I'm not that mechanically minded, and it didn't take that long to do (maybe 30 mins all up with the bike already to temperature).
Two tips:
1. WD-40 the adjustment screws to a) help them undo and b) help your torx bit seat in the screw head (to reduce the chance of burring).
2. Place a screwdriver or something on the TPS sensor body and tap it up or down to make the fine adjustments (moving with your fingers I found too coarse when adjusting).
Read up about it here:

Symptoms if you might need to do it:
1. Snatchy throttle
2. Rough running at low revs (ie. like an over-rich engine or an engine with the choke left on when warm)
3. Uneven running at low revs - you can feel the bike twitching forward and back.
I've found it makes the throttle response smoother = safer when rolling on the throttle mid-corner.
