So slowly getting on to working on the bike now I have room in the garage.
To cut the story short I need to get a new set of forks for the VTR as the tops are bent on the old ones.
Since I'm going to streetfighter it I was thinking of sticking an USD set on it. There are a set off a 2005 VTR on trademe which I was looking at and a few others from other bikes.

Is there anything I need to look out for specifically or anything which may cause me some grief with a swap?
Any info would be great

Triple clamp bore sizing, triple clamp offset ( affecting trail, usually in a negative manner) If triple clamps are also required stem length, bearing sizes. Extended length, full closed length. Axle size and spacers. Caliper attachment, attachments for mudguard. Is the springing and internal damping suitable, etc. To the uninitiated this can more often than not be a time consuming and costly minefield.
You can search on forums and see if there is a clear pattern where multiples of people have successfully fitted and ridden with the chosen forks. You have to be just as careful in disseminating all the abject nonsense from five minute experts that habitate such media.

I've read online (cant remember where) of alot of people using Fireblade front ends, but you need the whole thing, bars, clamps etc.
Try google and ya should find something pretty easy, finding a complete front end in NZ might be a bit harder though.

Cheers guys,
I have a full front end available so that part shouldn't be too much trouble.
Cheers Robert, I had thought of quite a few of those already and thats why I have decided to go down the road of a newer version of the VTR instead of something like a GSXR. You have given me a few other things to think about.
