Been into cafe racer style bikes for a while as my little bro started working on a SR restoration. When I came across a near complete GSX250 the side of the road i jumped on it. Was missing shit loads of stuff, no carby, no mufflers, petrol tank buggered, no ignition switch + fair bit of wiring blah blah. Anyway, ~ 3 months later and today we finally rode it for the first time

Still looks pretty rough i know but hey, it was free :) Still a few issues to sort for now, the thing keeps revving like crazy and the clutch needs adjusting.

Plan is to get it rego'd then paint all fairings, tank and few bits like the headlight bucket then get a few nice custom pieces like new gauges and redo the seat ... then when thats all done and I have time and money I'll strip to the frame, powder coat it and do the wiring and everything properly.

Anyway here's a video of it, you can also see my old mans nice and loud BSA running with no muffler just the header pipes. Love the sound of the old dual ignition bikes

Anyway, its a work in progress and I'm happy with the milestone reached today. We spent too many weekends thinking it would never start before finding issues like the valves being set completely wrong! So yeah, stoked at today

Also, thanks to anyone who helped out on the questions I've had so far :)

Whoah, that sounds fan-bloody-tastic for a 250!
You'd hardly believe it was a GSX.

And sorry, but curiosity makes me... I take it you checked to make sure the bike wasn't anybody's, and you didn't just nick it?

Super cool BSA too.
