Hahaha... Yeah, I was soooooo nervous! Hardly slept a wink last night. I told the testing lady I was very nervous, but she was sweet as; joking and putting me at ease.
Installed the earpiece and away we go. Did heaps of turns into side streets with give ways, and stops. Hazard pointing at her command. It was going so well, then we turn into this narrow as street with her waiting in the middle of the road at the entrance to the street telling me to do a u-turn. Well, U-turns are my least favourite thing! So, here's me on the side of the street waiting and psyching myself up to do this u-turn on this narrow as street, and she's going... can you hear me? When you're ready, do a u-turn.. Here's me thinking, I'll never be able to do a u-turn here! I'm so fucked! Then she says again 'Can you hear me? Do a u-turn'! I'm nodding and thinking, Yes, I can hear you perfectly freakin well! Ah, well, there's no help for it but to do the bloody u-turn and just do the best I can! So I put my foot down about 2/3rd's of the way through but manage otherwise to get around.... Now, either she didn't see it (she's still parked in the middle of the street as if she is going to turn into the street I'm doing the u-turn in) or she ignored the foot down. Anyhoo, next thing she tells me to turn right at the stop sign, pull in front of her, park the bike up and go back to see her in the car! I'm thinking, I've failed!!! But no, she's writing out my licence and wants me to sign it:eek: That's the wobbliest signature I've ever signed! Then she tells me to practice the u-turns!
This took all of about 7 minutes! What a relief!!

I'll be going for mine soonish. Need to practice some u turns, I think thats what will hold me up. How wide was the road you had to do it on? Like normal two lanes or slightly smaller/bigger?

Many congrats on a great result. Just remember that NOW is when you really start to learn. Take the examiners advice and do practice turns and stops and anything else you need to keep you safe.

It was a two-laned side street street in town with no centre marking. I never went out of town for the whole test and it took all of about 7 minutes.
Also, there are 3 of us in our family who recently went through the GDLS process and I know a number of other people around town who have recently completed their licenses. I thought it was interesting that the route taken by the instructors has been completely different for all of us.
All the best with doing your full Thani-B, and really, there is no substitute for practice, practice, practice...

WOW 7 MINUTES, I might have to come and do mine up there! My restricted here took 20 minutes and the full licence time is about 40 - 60 minutes long! (so my husband says)

I'm not upgrading yet. I'm saving for my dream bike (a Triumph Daytona 675) but in the meantime I'm happy with my GT250R.

Yeah, they are pretty relaxed up here! My husband got about 2 minutes into both his restricted and full tests and the testing officer says, 'Turn around, you're wasting my gas, bro!' He didn't even do a u-turn! I think they look at your riding style and if you look like you were born on a bike, then they are happy with that:msn-wink:
