Well, it took 8 months and it finally happened, that bloody wind took my pride and joy and dumped it down on the street while I was diving to save it :crybaby: . Sadly I was too late and and there are now gastly white scratches on the front black fairing. Does anyone out there have any ideas on how to minimise my machines scaring so it can once agian go out in public without people staring?? I have given it a quick polish, but what have others done to plastic in the past other than buying a new fairing?
The scratches aren't deep and I didn't break anything which is the only thing to be thankful for. I have done a quick thread search but to no avail. Please help :spudwhat:

Buy a touch up pen from your local Auto shop.
Then cut & polish it.

Cheers I will try that :wari: , do you use the basic cut polish cream for cars?

In the last 3 months I've had the CBR, I've fallen 3 times, and Cryhavoc and Jamezo have both fallen off of it. I have 2 cracks in the fairing and busted the right mirror mount, and with the magic of modeling glue, managed to fix the mirror mount, but it didn't work for the fairings, next time it's at the workshop, probebly sort that out.
Wind hasn't done anything to it yet

yup, I got some of that stuff in the yellow can and then some crap in a purple tin to clean up, its the CRC stuff. Worked well.
Then Get some of that colored polish its good stuff, or you could sand it down abit and respray it yourself... :)

What a pisser! You have my sympathies, it's happened to me twice. Today was 1 of those particularly breezey days for Wellington!

Don't know what all the fuss is about -- it's only a gentle zephyr (yeah, right).
Try nugget on your fairing. It should polish up nicely...

You wouldn't believe it but it actually blew it over the stand!!!! I had pulled up at a dairy and noticed it was bloody windy so I diligently parked it with the stand facing the opposite way. To no avail, the wind blew it up and over its stand. Probably would not have happened to a heavier bike :angry2:
