I'm going swap Scoot for a 250. $200 for a rear? And I bet you get more than 800 odd k's out of one, right?

What he said.
I'd tend to opt for the Pirelli, but not if you've got some shitty shinko or the like on the front

Need to know what is on the front.
I have a pilot activ on the Bandit. It seems to work well.

I had Pirelli Diablo on my old zxr4 which were awesome, got Pilot's on my R6, good as well but would say the Pirelli's were slightly better.
Also as others have said will depend on the front as well.

Probably doesn't matter much if he's replacing the front next week. He can match the rear then.
I'd go for the Sport Demons.

Just make sure they put your wheel back on right. I know SOMEONE who has gone through THREE chains via them.
Some Heavy Duty chain, Fitted new rear tyre and it died 400k's later.
D.I.D #1, busted o-rings after 100k's - Deemed a baddie who got through the net, no matter, we give you free chain.
D.I.D #2, Busted o-rings after 100k's again. It not chain, it you. Your sprocket has tiny wiggle, that's the problem.
Went to workshop, got Squarebox ally length, lined up with back wheel. SEVEN turns of one side on the adjuster later, in line :argue:
Now turning its 1,300'th k, only 2 seizing links. Next payday, new chain.
I still go there, and buy stuff from them so it's all good. They just aren't going to be fitting my chains anymore. V expensive.

I'd go for the Sport Demons.
Good choice.
OP - if you can get them, Bridgestone BT45s are very good as well.

Why no wait a week and get both done at the same time ?
The sport demons are a good choice.

I can't comment on the others, but I just got a pair of Michelin Pilot Activ tyres, and I'm very very happy with them. They seem really grippy, and the bike feels much better to ride...

That's probably more down to the tyres not having lot's of wear. It's the nicer tip-in etc that feels great, not necessarily the tyre compound etc. In saying that, I'm not knocking your tyres...I've had no direct experience with Activs and wouldn't like to comment.
