Hey Dudes and Dudess's,

Cickey this trip was just over 2 weeks ago, and it lingers in my memory like the first crush I ever had!!!

Got to Auckland Airport and was met by my host for the weekend, a lovely guy called Tony, was is a mechanic on the Edeavour Yacht in the Viaduct in Auckland. The traffic was terrible but conversation was quick flowing with my new friend, and we landed in the Viaduct and he took me to the Boat.

:niceone: Oh my god, the yacht was the most beautiful yacht I had seen. It dates back to the 1930's and raced for years and has been lovingly restored back to its majestic glory by the owners. Tony explained to me that he had hired me a bike to do the Coast to Coast around Auckland. What a top bloke eh?

A few beers and vodka's later Tony and I shot off to The Vector Arena which was thankfully in walking distance, and got in the worlds longest queues, at that stage I didn;t think we would be anywhere near the front,:weep: but folk seemd to want to queue to get a beer rather than go through to the standing area, so we got very near to the front.

The warm up act was a cleaner who swept the stage a gorgeous guy who then started to dance , incredible and funny too

The tension built until the lights went down and the atmosphere was electric and my hero started to belt out Yellow as the first song, I really do think that Coldplay are fantastic, musically sound, and entertaining, and seem to be great guys too.

On a high we wandered back to the Viaduct and the Cowboy's bar......yuk.....took some solice on the pole which was on the bar, much to the surprise and his friends who I had just been introduced to:laugh::laugh:

A lazy day followed and I met up with another mate of Tony (they are all ex contiki drivers and guides, so their sense of humour is perfect.......they're also guys in their late 30's with no kids, a rare find!!!! Anyway, I went and collected my hire bike, a Honday Shadow parked it outside my apartment, and went to have a couple of beers with Tony, his shipmate Dave and another bikey mate Tim, who was doing the ride with us the following day...

We went to their mates 30th birthday party had far too many shots and got a taxi into town, and got absolutely slaughtered, it was a contiki night out of past crew's fuck it was a huge night, even more shots followed and I ended up being incapable of standing let alone walking, so got a taxi back home, and set my alarm for 630, (had to meet the guys at 730) and at that time it was 445am.

Holy shit 630 came and went as did a few snooze buttons hit, and I ended up getting to Tony's with about 5 mins to spare, so I had to get used to the bike really quickly and with a searing hangover already kicking in saw Tony who told me that Dave had chucked up over the boat and already left.......

We met the other 50 odd riders at a bike shop and hooned it along the motorway at breakneck speed to a meet somewhere whose names escapes me.

We hadn't heard from Tim, Dave looked like a ghost and Tony and I just had the giggles......when we heard Tim, had broken his door trying to get in:killingme

The ride commenced and I began to realise how gorgeous Auckland's surrounding bits of countryside were. We had about 3 hours of hell riding until we met up a Pub and sat and looked at pies and drank water!!!!!

Tony, Tim and Dave are all on Ninga's and were blurs in the distance, so I got adopted by some Aucklander Harley Dudes and rode with them a good part of the day, till we got to a Wild Food Festival......I lay on the grass, and snored out a power nap, and rejoined the Harleys Dudes, and promptly ran out of petrol about 20k;s later, and the frigging reserve tank didn't have any in it:angry2:

I got rescued by the support St. Johns Anbulance Crew who went to the next town and got me some petrol for me and found out the wonderful dudes were KBer's Doner (Nigel), gijoe1313 Justin, and Blue Thunder (Simon)You guys are lovely and thank you so much for rescuing me.....

After a bit of pisstaking I had a bite to eat with them and rode with them back to Whitiangi for the presentation. I just got myself a pint and hear myname being mentioned........Hee Hee I got the furthest travelled and got a bottle of zambuca, which nearly made me chuck after the shots the night before.

A very quite night followed and we were all back at the hotel by 1015 and in bed by 1045........the beer was chewy by that stage.......fuck I slet like a log, but woke up revived to another gorgeous sunny day.......

We met up with the group I rode with the day before and set off for the Coromandel I had been really looking forward to this bit. The shore line along the corommandel reminded me of the fabulous Queen Charlotte Road, in Nelson, it was as green as could be and the twisty roads were a challenge for me and the Honda Shadow but kinda got used to it a little by then, even so the 15kph corner were testing for all of us..........One of the dudes (Mike) over shot a corner, and a top chick slid into him, damaging pride and front fairing alike, but thankfully no one was hurt.

A bit of piss taking carried on, and we meandered our way to fish and chips shouted by Brent (Bike Shop owner) what a top bloke, and we twisted and turned our way through spectacular scenery, possibly up there now with my favourite part of New Zealand.

A quiet last night in the favourite bar in the Viaduct (Degree's) drew to a close the most amazing weekend,

I was blown away by the stunning scenery up there, and the fun friendly and totally nice Aucklanders I ran into.

They were welcoming, chilled and great, so everyone who calls in Aucklander a Jaffa, really means to say Just Another Friendly Aucklander. I encountered nothing but great people.......Good on yer Auckland, Thank you, Woodybee had a ball

Big thank you to Top Bloke Tony and his mates, and for Mike for running me back to the Airport..........Photos coming soon.

Ciao for now mon amigos

Queen Charlotte Drive is well and truly in Marlborough, don't let the Nelson folk try to steal it!
