Every time I get home after work/uni/play I generally hop on KB and see what's new, check emails, and now I also dob in "that wanker who *insert breach of road rules and/or common sense here*".
ie today I watched in horror as a guy stopped very late (on the pedestrian part) at a red light, finished sending his txt, and then continued to run said red light. I get home, fill in form, in a few days they get back to me with what's happening. Heck I've even had a follow up call from an officer asking if I'd stand as a witness for one of the more insane drivers I've seen (seriously, this guy probably had the cops after him already the way he was driving)
Not only do I finally get to report these dickheads and get through to them that driving at night without headlights, failing to check blind spots, running red lights, lane splitting and doing excessive speeds through traffic is NOT ok, but I'm getting exceedingly good at remembering number plates and other short alphanumeric 'words':2thumbsup
there is even a way to report "A slow driver holding up traffic and not making allowance for others to pass" - so next time you get stuck for several kilometres behind some wanker towing a horse, use that time to read the plate;)
and to all those with personalised plate - you make this too easy:whistle:

MotorB probably means lane-splitting AT excessive speeds. I've a biker for that once myself - generally if someone nuking it past me or MotorB splitting, they'd have to be doing well into the "excessive" speeds

When someone has tried to run me or others over, or tried to drive into me I've had a tendancy to report them, including excessive speeds around school kids etc.
*555 very handy too.

Speed doesn't kill - it's the stopping that kills te he he:clap:

Personally, I love speed, on my own, and I don't care if I kill myself doing what I love - but I don't believe I should do it around others ergo; it becomes dangerous driving then ...
is me making the sense?
EDIT: this also applies to SLOW drivers (my current pet hate bieng 70kph minivans!)

Funny huh ... yup you are right .. I know of two personally who were killed due to the stop .. and not the speed. Still haven't learnt to see that and take it as a joke.

Had a cage yesterday first cut up two cars and then me twice after I made the mistake of getting ahead of him .... when I pulled up alongside him at a red light he promptly jumped it. Drivers in the cars around me voiced their views: "Go thump him in the head"
So I waited for the light to go green and then broke the speed limit by an "excessive" amount in order to catch him back up again
Doesn't make a lot of sense when put like that does it ?

followed a guy on a scooter yesterday, through the middle on dunedin on the one way syste,, at rush hour, who was fuckin TEXTING while he was riding, zigzagging all over his lane, and going between 30 and 35km/hr, looks up,realises hes fallen behind the car ahead, accelerates then slows down again. I was behind him on the TZR. When he pulled up at the lights beside him, I prompltly grabbed the phone out of his hand and chucked it onto the grass verge on the side of the road opposite the captain cook tavern, then took off as I got the green. The look on hos face was priceless!! He looked sooo MAD!! but fuckit, I probably saved the little assholes life

If only Id known. On the weekend there was this drugged out dredlocked hippy guy in a white honda integra that myself and 400 hundered other cars got stuck behind from Wanganui to the Haywards, he did 80kph the whole way. I passed him twice (had to stop and get gas). There was so much traffic and we were going so slow I thought there must have been a crash, but no, just a hippy.

Good on you. You should have given him the biff with your foot and pushed him off.

Whats wrong with lane splitting?
Just got to ask, why do most riders lane split. I just wait behind the cars in traffic, just as they have to wait. Is it because some are impatient ( no offense meant) or because of the balance at near stationary speed.
Doesent really hurt to wait at a line of traffic at the lights, does it?

It all depends on how far away the traffic lights are from where you are in the queue... I used to save about an hour and a half a day in Wellington splitting the Hutt Rd and motorway... That is basically a day of work a week.. Did that for 3 years. Quite a saving when you think about it. No point in Chch, the city isn't as wide as the queue in Welly is long :)

You need to try living closer to auckland. :)
I used to save maybe 30 minutes on my commute from lanesplitting.
I currently save about 10 minutes or so riding up to the front of kilometre long queues.

firstly, it saves me over an hour day when I have to make an 8am lecture. 15 minutes of that is just at ONE traffic light.
secondly, my bike overheats if I sit in traffic
thirdly, I overheat if I sit in traffic
finally, I don't like start/stop traffic crawling along with the "rubber band" effect - especially when the wanker at the front of the queue he's caused is doing 40kph tops, causing him to arrive at every set of lights as they go orange on a road (seemingly) phased so that 50kph will get you straight through unimpeded:mad:
additionally, it just feels better.... plus I'm usually running late.

why ride a bike like you drive a car - what's the point of that ?
it would be like Germany with speed limits

Nuking it past you - you mean, actually moving without feet paddling along the tarmac like I hear you do.
