For the slow reading and hard of scrolling here are the meeting details:
Sunday Morning, 13th March
Holeshot Suzuki on Barrys Point Road,
8:15 AM
OK Kiwi Bikers, I'm up in the North Shore and am as keen as to go down to Cambridge for the run, but I don't want to do it on my own.
I reckon MadGuitarist will join me but is there anyone else who would be keen to get together and ride to Cambridge?
Madguitarist and I are both on the top of the North Shore so we can meet people at various places on the way out of Auckland.
And if the run starts at 9AM what time should we leave Auckland?
Ideas? Comments? Suggestions? Hate Mail?

You are looking at around 160km from Takapuna to Cambridge. A couple of hours should do depending on the roads one takes. The rally departs at 11.00am some of the guys are meeting at the BP in Cambridge around 10am heading off to the start at 10.30am.
Best route is
Turn left at Taupiri to Gordonton
On the otherside of Gordonton follow the signs to Cambridge its a bit of a zig zag trip but not much traffic that way.
As you come into Cambridge you will meet up with SHW1 and the BP is around 100 meters on the left. Or you can go directly to the start - straight through to the roundabout and follow the marshals directions.

Mad Duck, on an earlier Toy Run thread, suggested meeting up at holeshot on Barrys Pt Rd and heading south from there tog. Tat sounds like an idea so.....
Shall we meet at say, 8.15am and then cruize down to Cambridge? Would give us time to take a nice 'legal' speed ride and also meet up with Holy Roller and gang & leave some time to check out the other bikes?? :2thumbsup

It took less than an hour last year, most of the time is taken up hanging around waiting prize draw etc. You should be OK.:niceone:

Yeah Im in and the more I thought about MikLs suggestion to go 22 on the way down I might prefer to swing along there on the way home. No pressure of having to speed like nuts (not that I ever do) to make the meeting time.
PS...JustSomeGuy fuel in the bike is optional

OK so can we def say that we are meeting outside Holeshot Suzuki on Barrys Point Road, this is open to all so even if we have some newbies who are little dubious or nervous, don't worry, come along, it'll be fine, this will be my first ever "ride" to a run.
We'll see you all there on Sunday at 8:15. Cheers

Maybe at the Yamaha shop out on Te Rapa? close to the road on to Auckland for those who will be leaving right away and then we could all go elsewhere. Would offer my place but I dont think I have enough room for so many bikers at once and I won't have enough cash to do a BBQ like Quasi.

I may be going, but will probably go with my other bike group cos they're meeting at Papakura Autobahn which is much handier for me. But I would prefer to ride back with KBers cos it's probably going to be a slow ride down there, and I can't be bothered having to go through that on the way back as well. Look out for me wearing a Red Knights shirt instead of my trusty KB one. I'll be easily recognised amongst the red-shirted brigade cos I'll be the only one with a really cool bike!!!
Who want's to come back via 22? (if FF gives us permission to ride on HIS road)

Believe me KB is my first choice - but as treasurer for the Red Knights I do need to show up now and then. But it won't be this time. I've had enough of everything, so I'm going to bugger off out of town for the weekend and rack up a few more kms on my bike. Enjoy the toy run and I'll see you all on another ride sometime.

How bout going to the KB Bike Reviews Section when yer feel like it and putting down a detailed review of your bike. I want to buy one as my next bike(well it's one on the list). (MANY months from today) but I'm curious nonetheless....
Thanks....... and enjoy the ride......

Another great day.........
Met up with the boys (madguitarist, outlawtorn, trev and another person - sorry can;t remember your name) on SH1 at greenlane around 8:45ish. Trev and me got on the motorway bout 5 mins after the guys left Takapuna.
The stopped off at Papakura Autobn for a short catch up........... met a group of old and rich fellas...... 3 2004/5 Aprilia's and a couple of clean busa's..... then there were a few hot rods and a few low riders...... lots of petrol in the air and I'm not talking about the fumes from BP........
Met up and did a steady ride down SH1 till Cambridge......
Reached the place we thought we were supposed to go to but hell...... no one there:spudwhat:
So we turned around and headed the other way....... stopped at a traffic light and WTF..... lots of white smoke bellowing out from under the handlebars......
Stop and find that somethings busted........ oh well....... Madguitarist and me break off find some oil and top up...... then off we go.....
Then see two cops and what looks like a million bikes...... Keep riding past hoping to reach the end of the convoy but can't seem to find it......... oh well.... did a u-turn and a kind soul on a gixxer6 let us in.......
On the way back filled up another bottle of oil as the thing was literally dripping like mad............ Got into a few twisties..... but got lost so headed back via SH1.....
Stopped for a bit of a rest at one of the rest areas and saw that little bits of oil were all over my rear tyre:confused:
But not too bad...... got back on the motorway and did a bit of Ghostridering along with Trev and some guy who joined in on a yellow elephant......
Not a fast ride like yesterday but a pleasant cruise in the sun:niceone:
Nice meeting all you guys for the first time........ and sweet bike trev:2thumbsup

Yea, it was pretty cool all in all! The convoy was impressive! Heaps of bikers, biker chicks and biker kids too! I did like the police cars with their big toys on the top of their cars! Nice to see them get in onthe act!!! :niceone:
Was good meeting more KBers and putting bikes and faces to their callsigns. Was a pity we weren't early enuf to meet up with Wolf. Holy roller, etc but next time I'll make sure we get there om time! :yeah:
Thanks guys, it was a fun time.
ps JustSomeGuy, PM me if you want some help with yer bike.

Well I decided to do my own thing and ride by myself to Cambridge since nobody seemed particularly keen to do 22 with me...
Arrived at Cambridge expecting to see a few KBer shirts at least, even if I did have to wander through the vast crowd and assorted bikes for half an hour...
But nope.
So back home on my own as well. But still lots of other bikers to wave to...

I know what you mean I saw no other KB shirt apart from the one I was wearing. Though last year Slim was wearing hers and I missed it. The only KB sticker I saw was on Warr's XJ900.
Got heaps of waves on the way back home peeps must be reading this forum to get the hint.
