Lived 10 years in Dargaville Maha - used to ride up there myself. Loved that Twin Bridges bit - we had a plot up in Kohukohu and always went up the centre to get there.
Have you ridden Te Ahu Ahu Rd through Waimate North? Usta love that one as well...

Is that east of Kaikohe?
The forrest should be in great condition, weathers been mint up this way for weeks. There is one corner on Twin bridges that always gets me comimg back down, its a crest and turns sharp right, had me in the pebbles once, control was massive even if I do say so myself...:shit:

Is that east of Kaikohe?
Runs East from SH1 to SH10. Bit north of Kaikohe. Goes through to Paihia if you follow it to the end. But the good bit is Between 1 and 10...:devil2:

Apparently Twin Bridges is a bit rugged, will be in Coopers Beach tomorrow night if you want to overnight it? But have a good day out!

A truely minta day.
440 kms of rather blissful roads, Lavva was right about Twin Bridges, should be all good in about a month. Serious road works both sides of the bridges, were stopped for about 10mins while they limed and watered the road ahead of us, oh fuckin' joy!!! Bike cleaning day tomorrow, didnt want cold water on a hot engine so I will attend to that in the morning. The forrest was fantastic, and the road through it wasn't bad either...:blip:
Didn't get to have a Battered Dolphin Burger, they dont make em' anymore, so had Steak and Chips and a drink out of a green bottle. Whats with the Norfland locals walking around in undies?? Is it commom place? undies only, nothing else, and he jumps of the Wharf....
I will get some snappy pics up soon...Omapere was stunning!!

Not even apparently mate, that road is not for the faint hearted for a few more weeks yet...LOL And that is only the road works part. Far out, we found this really cute deviation running lengthwise in the lane, cunningly disguised as a normal looking road! My poor bum, good as the suspension is, it was not designed for that kind of surprise. Loved the text at Opononi too mate, bottle nose buffet :killingme

My personal fav was the rather largish lady heaving herself up the steps of the pub that we undertook when we first arrived. Imagine the lovely surprise I got when I went to strip off the thermal underlayer to find her parked having some sort of full body evacuation in the ladies
Fantastic day love, we should do that more often

Wish I'd read this last night....would have saved me a bike wash. They were wetting it again today.

Did you go or have you ever been out to the end of Signal Stn Rd at Omapere up on the hill? Choice views from there as well.
So what is wrong with our collective Norfern undies?
Was better than where I was on friday, that's for sure![Work]:whocares:
You guys are aware that T.I.E is here on 9th for our TNR? You are more than welcome to come along and maybe BBQ etc. Keep an eye on our thread for update if keen

We did go to another lookout point, bit further down the hill on the left and out to a point.
Have been in touch with Andrew and yes we will certainly catch up, but on the 9th we are going to Ruakaka for the weekend.
