looked at his mates, tilted slightly then brought the wheel down, causing the tank slapper from hell...lol

The camera man did well to hang on!

Well, if you're gonna destroy something, you may as well do it in style. Everyone watching, and a camera on his helmet...

Watch the damn video. He obviously landed with the bars not straight, pretty clear me thinks.

He should not have tried to continue riding the wheelie when the bike started leaning over just before he reached the group of bikers. He landed the wheelie with the bike leaned over, when the bike straightened up vertically, it over corrected itself with its momentum and threw him into a nasty tank slapper. Only way to have saved that was to have put the bike down when the wheelie started to go off center. he is lucky to have got a away so lightly from a wheelie at that speed.

ok... turns out the rider is a guy named Kyle, hes on the same forum (http://www.triumph675.net) as me.

hes pretty honest about his screwup too. lol! Seems it only happened last month. Hes since rebuilt the bike into the street fighter shown in the second pic.

Lucky it happened after he'd passed the other riders......!

I'd always figured that is why wankers build street fighters. They've crashed their nice bikes, no insurance... so take the fucked plastic off and call it a street fighter.

What were his injuries. Looked like he just had draggin jeans. Knee looked stuffed. He just lay there so i was guessing broken leg/knee?

swollen wrist and ankle and some scratches from clipping the barded wire fence. pluus the wrenched and cut knee. Got away ultra lightly I think

So, what bike do you have, again? :girlfight:

I'd say. Particularly compared to what could've happened if he put it down as he passed the parked bikes.

Well it isn't called a street fighter. And what exactly is a "street fighter" fighting anyhow...???

And you can buy some already made as street fighters.
My mate Dani has a Street Triple R to go with her new 08 CBR600RR. She rates it a ton more fun round CHCH traffic than the Blade and shes a sportbike nut from way back, so they must be good for something

Does having the fairing off make it easier to fit through gaps in the traffic or something..???

Sorry, I just don't get it... apart from being an image thing.

Fairings are overrated.

I would say it is more the bigger handle bars making it easier to turn at slower speeds

Arrr wheelies into oncoming bikers huh...................I knew a guy that did that a good mate of mine actually, killed himself and his best mate, both my best mates, wasnt even a good wheelie..................wonder if it was worth it ?

This 675 still has the original clip-ons on by the looks of it.

So perhaps just crashing your bike and taking the fucked fairing off is enough to class it as a "street fighter"... :tugger:

Don't be Mr negative. When you see such heroes you are meant to say things like... "You are so cool.!" "I wish I could be like you when I grow up..!" "I want to father your lovechild (yes even though we are both boys)"... etc. etc.

What camera was he using? It survived way better than the guy and his bike.

slydesigns

go-pro camera

The 675 guys all asked the same thing.
