Introductory Offer – “The” Communications Course - That Saved My Daughter

I have a once only introductory offer for KB members or anyone they pass this onto on what I consider to be the best damned communications skills course ever. (And I’ve been on a few). This stuff works with kids, in families, when negotiating, in business etc. I even use it with solicitors to gain trust and help resolve disputes. But what matters to me was it saved my daughter and that’s how I came across it.

The three things we don’t get taught about at school are relationships, money and how to ride a motorbike. (Sorry, I just felt the thread needed to be a little motorbike related).

So we need a licence to ride a bike and get tested on competency. When we form a partnership / marriage and have kids there is no licensing process. It’s learn as you go. My personal relationship had ups and downs that it didn’t need. I learnt my parenting skills on my first child and by my 4th I was starting to get the hang of it. If only I had 6 more kids I might have got good at it. I’ve always loved the kids thing, but they can really, really, really, stretch us at times.

How This Saved My Daughter

About 7 years ago, my then 9 year old, set me on a path that completely changed my life. You see this 1 child of our 4 took 80% of our time. She would best be described as the child from … &%$#. If there was a problem, she was in the middle of it. I didn’t know how to handle her, let alone teach her how to handle herself. Not a high point for a parent to realise. I was at the point of physically having to restrain her. As a parent this was gut wrenching stuff. I’d spent a fair bit of time learning my trade but it never occurred to me I needed to spend time to learn how to communicate. My wife, kids and I paid for this for a lot of years.

I realised if I didn’t do something back then, I was looking at a child running away from home. I started looking for information and answers. I attended talks and courses to Christmas. Finally I found a world class course that had stuff that the others had missed, it happened to be tucked away in the farthest reaches of the world, and oddly enough just down the road from me in Christchurch. Go figure, you scour the world and it’s buried in your back yard.

Today at 16 she’s an angel and you couldn’t recognise the other child that she used to be. Thanks to her I’m now doing change work with kids and adults for half my week. I went on to learn more and develop a whole new set of skills that sees me helping other kids and adults with personal challenges from Spelling, Learning, ADHD with kids through to Insomnia, Stress, Depression and Anxiety with adults. I even have athletes come and see me to figure out how to perform better. Now if you told me I’d be doing this 8 years ago I’d have been the first to laugh at you.

Once I’d mastered this stuff, my daughter changed over night. I discovered, not just how to talk with her, but got a road map on which way to talk, when. I discovered how she thought and what worked for her. When I changed the way I spoke, most of the problem disappeared. (Embarrassingly true!)Years later, in a quite moment when we finally spoke about how we felt, she let me know she had been planning to run away years earlier. That’s still sad for me to know.

As you can probably guess, I place a tremendous amount of value on this course because of what it’s done for me, my wife and kids. What I really wanted to do was to get this course out there, and specifically for parents. Prior to this course I considered it was appropriate for parents to smack from time to time. After this course I can’t conceive of a time where that is ever necessary. The reason we raise our voices is because we’ve run out of communication skills, the reason for smacking is because the raised voice didn’t work. I’ve found it’s much more enjoyable when you tackle the communications skills.

The Introductory Offer

I’m in an unusual position of having used this stuff and tested it, using it day in and out, combined with other skills, to work with kids and parents for all sorts of personal challenges.

So I’m ready to teach the exact course that I learnt the life saving communication skills on. This is where you lot come in. (yes it took a long time but I got their didn’t I)

So the course is taught around the world and it costs $800 here in New Zealand.

The Offer

On “The” Communication Skills Course - Transforming Family Communication is;

1/ I’m going to make this course available through KB on a one time only basis where I’ll earn nothing for it. In fact I’ll lose money. I’ll pay for the course material, the space, drinks, course food and the shiny new International Certificate with your name on it, etc, and you won’t pay for that.

2/ You will pay a nominal agreed amount because I believe that it’s important that you do that and when the group meets we’ll decide whether that amount gets paid to either (I envisage $50-$100);

a/ A charity the group decides on or,

b/ To a motorcycle racer in the form of sponsorship (and perhaps a younger rider) or,

c/ it’s held in trust till the end of the course and if you’re happy we use part to cover my costs and the remainder goes to a/ or b/ or to me.

3/ So this means you get to attend what I consider to be the best Communcations Skill Programme around. The course combines communications skills, learnings from successfully resolved international disputes, (NLP) Neuro Linguistic Programming and the latest research on how the brain functions and how we can use that knowledge to improve communication.

4/ The course is 26 hours long and I’m proposing that we run it over 3 consecutive Sundays. Starting as soon as possible and around the Epsom, Newmarket area.

5/ Because it’s my first time I’d ask you to forgive me when I find I don’t have something I need on hand because my checklist wasn’t as thorough as I thought it was.

6/ This price is almost as good as a money back guarantee but I’m so confident that you’ll find a huge amount of useful stuff in here that I will provide a written money back guarantee. Here it is. If you complete the full course and feel it just wasn’t any good then bowl on up to me and I’ll refund in full. No questions asked. On the other hand, i you feel this course was a Wow!, then you are under no obligation, but if you felt you wanted to discretely give me a donation to contribute to my losses then I’d appreciate that. Or we can utilise the option referred to in 2/ c.

7/ I would of course be looking for video testimonials to put on a website if this course is what I say it is. You would be under no obligation on this.

8/ And of course I’d love to have you email out to everyone you know an email from me on an upcoming course. You would be under no obligation on this.

So please post up if you’re interested, if you can’t do Sundays but other days just let me know. I’d like to get a fairly big group together and starting as soon as possible, excluding any holiday weekends if need be.

The course would be in Auckland unless you ended up organising a group in another centre.

I know you can be a vocal lot so speak up and tell me what you think.

I expect you’d learn a lot on the course and we’d have a bunch of fun. Yes you can use this stuff to resolve disputes involving your motorcycle.

All humour is appreciated. Bear in mind this is a serious subject. I know you lot can be at Polar opposites but if it’ll help just think of a big white cuddly furry animal.

I uhhmmed and arrhhhgged about posting this up but figured I'd never know if it was a good idea to do this any other way.

Let me know what you think.

If the traffic is a bit light then excuse the odd bump.

Cheers - Des

And if you want to discuss any other stuff posted please feel free. Since I've mentioned the family and work thing I'm happy to talk more.

Because I work with kids I also get to work with what have been termed "Indigo or Crystal" kids. So I've got a bit of experience working with that as well. For those of you that don't know the terms you can google. It appears we are having more kids being born with heightened senses. They can sometimes see more, hear more, feel more etc.

Sometimes when these kids are being referred through to the church an exorcism is often being suggested. When being referred to GP's and in the instances of hearing voices they are getting schizophrenia medication. There's actually nothing wrong with them they just have heightened senses. I'm not sure I believe what I read on the net I just see it as normal human evolution.

It's important for parents of these kids and for the kids themselves to understand that they just have heightened senses and to understand how that will grow in future.

Unfortunately I don't have those heightened senses like they do but I know a child when they come in and can help parents make sense of what's happening for them. I also have experience with a number of these kids and their experiences.

Cheers.

I have a 2.5 and newborn:baby: and would love to learn how to make sure I am doing the best parenting job I can. It does get frustrating at times not wanting to use corporal punishment when that is what you were raised with. Anyway, I hope you get a great session together and you help as many of us as possible.

Hey Gubb, we don't have connections with any religions. The material just deals with communications skills. There were a couple of key aspects to this that helped solve things for me and seems to be a common comment from people who've used it.

Sadly. No we can't provide Amway but I'm sure you could use the skills in that arena. But I'm not interested in that. I am really interested in making this available for parents. For me it's kind of like finding out how to fix the bike and know when things aren't working well. Or just waiting till they go seriously wrong and getting the bike into a workshop.

You see I already provide the workshop services for kids and families. It just seems useful to deal with it before they have to come and see me.

I'll PM you my contact details and you can give me a call.

It's just a communications skills course. If you go looking for them they're around. This one runs at $800. At the end of the day I want to go from using these skills day in and day out to teaching them.

My thoughts were, since I love bikes, that I'd see if there was interest here on KB. I got a reprimand from the powers that be and a 1 month penalty for posting in the wrong category.

But heck, I didn't even know this category existed, had never been here and struggle to find it.

But here I am, making a genuine offer and at the end of the day people will be interested or not.

If they are then i'd look to get as big a group as I could together. And because it would be my first time, well, I'd be looking for a supportive environment. No would that be too much to ask.

It didn't occur to me that it would be seen as a front for Amway, selling products, or timeshare or something.

And, there are no other products being sold. Although my wifes GN250 is going to go on trademe this week but that's a whole other story.

I'm going to work my way down the posts and then check in here often over the next week. With no action for what seemed like a week I ddin't check back.

Apologies.

Hi Number One,

Thanks for the PM, I got back to you. Good luck with that. Or get hold of me if you want to talk further.

Nope, not landmark just a communications skill programme developed here and taught around the world.

I've heard of landmark but have no idea what it is.

I agree with you and that would piss me off as well.

Actually, I'm certified and licenced to teach the course. Yes, I pay for that privilege.

My intention beyond what I'm offering here is to teach it on an ongoing basis here in NZ and also to jump the ditch to Oz and teach it there. Those people would be paying a fair price for the course because I also need to earn a living.

The KB thing is a oncer for me.

I'm at a point in my life where I largely choose to do work because it's rewarding personally and it pays me an income as opposed to doing work that isn't so enjoyable. That's one of the reasons I work with kids. They're tough to work with but the results are priceless.

Yes I can earn more if I apply what I've learnt to business but it just isn't as personally rewarding.

Gee, I've missed som much here in the last day or two.

Yep, I'm certified to teach the course and certified quite a bit beyond that.

I have a legally binding contract to pay for the use of the course but the reality is I'd pay even if I didn't. I appreciate what the course has done for me and just want to pass that on.

And I could have so many funny one liners for that. But let's get serious.

It took a lot for me to post up my personal stuff. I also put some stuff in there about kids that are facing some real challenges.

This stuff means so much to me on a personal level that I can't imagine doing anything else.

Damn, I go off for a long weekend and you lot get bust posting. Did no one else head out for the weekend. lol.

I even managed to drag my sorry physique out onto a bicycle with my kids. I am sooooo unfit. All bike should have motors I reckon. Actually we do have them as well but for some reason it was bikes they wanted.

I've PM'd you like I said and I have a couple of more posts to do but post up if you have any questions.

Cheers.

Sorry for taking a bit to get to your post. I decided to deal with some of the others first before getting the thread back on track.

I hear you on the corporal punishment thing. I'm late 40's and was raised here on the serious physical beating system. I still carry a repaired broken front tooth from getting between my Dad's fist and my mum.

A generation back physical violence in the home was more readily accepted but that's changing.

I used to believe solidly that there was a time for physical discipline and since doing the transforming communication skills course and getting that sorted for me I can't comprehend a time when it is necessary.

I think the anti smacking laws were a good move. I can remember what it was like before the anti smoking laws came in. If you told someone not to smoke because secondhand smoke isn't good for you they'd have laughed you out of the room. And 30 years before that smoking was advertised as being healthy. Generally the law comes first and the change in behaviour comes second. Now smoking is considered anti social. I expect at a guess that the same will happen for smacking for this reason and one more (see the next post).

Yes, I hope we can get this one together.

If you want I can probably point you in the direction of some useful information. Just pop me a PM.

So the post below.

In Denmark they know New Zealand because they were the second country in the world to give women the vote. New Zealand beat them to being first by a matter of months as I understand it. Which means they'd have been working on it for some time as well. So were well regarded.

So a friend of mine was talking to a friend of his in Denmark around the time that our anti smacking laws came in and mentioned it.

The guy was really surprised that we needed anti-smacking laws.

My friend says, well actually we had laws here that allowed us to smack kids.

And the guy from Denmark says, so you had laws that allowed you to smack kids and you are just changing that. But no smacks kids.

And the kiwi bloke says, actually yes, most parents smack there kids. In fact a few years back it used to be a very popular.

The Danish guy was in shock he couldn't comprehend it. He then tells my friend that no one in Denmark smacks kids. He can't even comprehend someone would ever want to do that.

I thought it was an interesting persepective.

So this is where I'm up to right now,

I'm expanding the time I spend working with people and that is spread between therapeutic work, coaching and training.

On the therapeutic front I'm working with kids on;

allergies, learning difficulties, spelling, confidence, phobias, anxiety, traumatic events etc

and with adults on;

smoking, allergies, anxiety, insomnia, PTSD, stress, Traumatic events, etc

On coaching
sports performance, business etc

On training

Starting out with
- Transforming Family Communciation
- Public Speaking and Confidence for Kids**
- Spelling for kids

(you'll notice I have a strong family and kids bias and that comes from the stuff I went through with my daughter)

I'm currently working on a website that I should be able to point you to in 6 weeks.

** I'm designing this course right now because when I see adults for fear of public speaking we can usually track the problem back to when they were under 5. In which case teaching kids how to be resourceful and confident seems like something really useful to learn at a younger age until waiting till later in life.

Other than that I have another business which runs and takes time.

I hope this gives those posters so far some additional background info on me and how come I'm here right now.

If you have any questions please post up and I'll go track down the button to get emails sent when someone posts here. Or you could tell me.

Thanks for the posts and apologies for not responding sooner.

Cheers.

The "offer" on the communications skills course has nothing to do with children with heightened senses. I appreciate you taking the time to post up and refer to the issues you raise below.

Hi

Thanks for that post. I'll wander over and have a look. I see the terms Indigo, Crystal etc and I've also read the posts on spiritual websites. I don't know if they are right or not. What I do know is the kids that I get to see that are experiencing things that seem to clearly indicate they have heightened senses.

I've got to experience some things with these kids that have led me to believe that they clearly have heightened senses. Yes, people have been born like this throughout time apparently but generally the suggestion seems to be that there are more.

My view is that they have heightened senses and this is just normal. I am also aware from discussions that some cultures readily accept that kids can have these heightened senses and it is encouraged.

I notice that a lot of posts around indigo or crystal or new people or whatever term is used talks about them being here for a special purpose. I'm not sure I agree with that. So all I know is what I get from the kids I see.

If you don't mind Balans I'd like to have a discussion with you around this now. And we can either do it in this thread or start another. Actually I'll go for start another.

Why I want to talk with you is that I've come from being skeptical, to fully believing that we are getting more kids showing up with heightened senses.

I have a lot of stories that I can share that have made me re-think all of this. In the website I'm creating which is around my work I'm also planning to add a page with information about these kids. I will reference the names that are out there because these are the names people are using. I don't buy into what I read on websites about this stuff.

What I wanted to provide was a resource that people can look at and get a view from a lay person who was originally skeptical and also read real situations from real people. If that can help people deal with this if it is an event for them then I see that as being useful.

I've worked with parents who had a terrified 12 year old daughter rolled up in the faetal position, cowering, in tears on the floor and too terrified to move. So let's just start with that story and move through a few. I have a background as an engineer. Mechanical stuff and science make sense to me.

What I don't know is quite how to put it out there. KB seems like the place to do this because we'll get the full spectrum of people.

I'll post up the link shortly.

I have heard of NLP and it is thought of highly by a few people who's opinion I value.

In my not so humble opinion ANYTHING that is offered as an alternative to the physical/mental/emotional abuse which are the "traditional" kiwi methods of raising kids has to be worth a look.

Don't diss this unless you have scoped it out thoroughly.
