Alright the great debate starts here. Being a PS2 owner I must condemn X-box because it is ugly, hard to use and....well....basically made by Bill Gates!!!

Lets face it, the awe of the X-box is fading faster than Milli Vanillis music career. (with the exception of Halo2, which unfortunatly kicks ass)

Some good news though for all you PS2 addicts, the PS3 is in the final stages and is due for release soon.

Xbox is way more versatile than ps2, you can pretty much do anything you want with it, where with the ps2 all you can do is play games and dvd's. ps2 does have some cool games though, but so does the xbox.

HUH? - PS2 can use a generic IDE drive, Install Linux, Has better network code, and has an emotion and physics engine, along with a better bus system, GT2/3 and various other things that fanboys like me love.

Unlike the xbox - which is a celeron coppermine a reworked Ti and a network card, all slapped on a cheap piece of PCB, and generates to much heat for those who sleep with there box0rs.

And also - its green - I mean only one thing is good in green, Kawas.


as for product loyality - I've had - 3x PS (grey ones, one OLD OLD school one with the SCSI connection, 2 newer ones) 1xPS1 with screen, 1xPS2 - oh and about 100 games, then I got a bike - I preferr sex beer and facial hair and bikes now... oh and sex. :apint: :apint: :banana:

and the only reason I got a ps2 in aug 2003 (this time.. it's my second) was gran turismo 4... still waiting ...

mind you, a mate who has owned every console n the last 15 years at least once (pre ordered every console before they come out... i mean all... had some weird shit shipped from japan even) has decided that the dvd in x-box is not as good as the ps2 one for movies... he went into all sorts of technical shit but that was the outcome...

I have not needed to patch any games at all, just get the upgrades for free (extra maps etc). Generally speaking its the OS and other computer software that has been needing the patches. However after installing SP2 (XP home) and patching a couple of things my computer has been running blardy great (touch wood!).

Anywayz, I have a good reason (currently) for liking PS2 over Xbox. Ever tried playing an xbox with one hand?? I have, and it doesn't work. Where as a PS2 controller, well there hasn't been a game made yet for that console that I can't master, um er, do reasonably well at then. Also, got a grouse drifting game from Japan (Kaido 2 Chain Reaction) that only comes out on the PS.

My xbox got chipped and a bigger hardrive from the sale of my 400 disc cd player. Now all my cd's have been converted to mp3's and sit on the xbox. So I can access the music much easier. I also have all my digital photo's on there to bore friends and family with 3,000+ photo's of little mason picking his nose. I've got a collection of music videos and bike crash videos which are a laugh to watch and watching them on my TV sure beats trying to crowd around my PC upstairs.

Not sure if you can do the mp3/music/video things on a PS2, maybe you can. I'm sure the ps2 fanboys will chime in to inform me.

My spare puter next to my tv does that... vids, photos, 24,000 mp3s... movies... plugged into my tv, stereo, network.... it has 3 huge (120gb) hdd's and a cd rom... (stereo has 5 dvd changer so I dont need a dvd in it)

From my understanding Microsoft only created the Xbox to ruin Sony's monopoly on the market and make a buck. They apparently are not too concerned with the machines once you buy em.

Funny problem was that it was also Microsofts bit to try enter the gaming scene and they have done well, no doubt but they cannot compete with sony.

The Xbox costs 35% more to make
The Xbox has a 24% chance or crashing and catching viruses due to its system
The Xbox has to lower prices to compete with selling of PS2

Although it has its good too. Microsoft didnt think this one out :confused:

I've never played any of the other ones so i can't compare, but it's pretty kick arse :D

but seriously, buy the top gun cd, it just suits it so well, you'll love it.

Not sure about 5 but 4 has a multiplayer that you can either do co-op missions or VS dog fighting (with missles even though that isn't dog fighting) Was pretty good last I played but that was a few years ago, pick it up again quik though.

I've never heard of a xbox getting a virus. If you want to think that ps2 are better than i dont think i can convince you otherwise. But xbox's are superior in so many ways (which are listed in this thread) than ps2's and up untill about a year ago the only thing ps2 had in it's favour was better games. But i think xbox is atleast even with them now.
