So whats their?? I can never remember and I always get blimming well lost so I thought I'd take the map up tomorrow and do them all!!

So Post them up guys an I'll add them to the list an try an mark them off as I go??

Track Name (Difficulty)

T = The Twister (Red)
W = The Woodchopper (Red)
C = The Convict (Red)
BD = Big Dipper (Red)
OB = Outward Bound ?
TF = The Fallen (Red)
SB = Super bowl (Yellow)
Mount Something????

Be nice if Ktm boy could mark them on the map 4 us?? ok So I'll give them a code as well like a plan key to make it easier for him!

Ktm boy can post to this thread when he makes a new one and we'll all know as it will pop up in the new posts for that day!

would be great if the track names were on the map dont think all trails are named though
outward bound ends up at hillclimb fun (not always fun)
quite like the loop track

Hey Reckless, are you still heading up to the sandpit tomorrow, someone to ride with would be good... what time were ya thinkin... on another note I fixed the cable and still had a flat spot, so replaced the spark plug and viola, so riding tomorow is in.
There is a new temporary map up the sandpit all tracks are named and colour coded, heres a smaller version for your fridges.....

Youll note a clminte pic bottom left "with credit" thanks phil.

sorry large file, can email a better one if ya want it

Where did you find that one??? yeh email it to me I'll pm ya! Can't read that one?

Ahh I just remembered, im 95% sure its called The Failure.. Yeh thats it.

Go alone the maintrack down to where the fences block the road on both sides.. keep going straight through just about to the end of that main track where you can either veere left or right, its probably 50 metres before that, you would never notice it as you ride past, its red sign on the right of the track. It starts as a little climb which is actually quick tricky haha.

So yeh, way down that main track and keep your eyes to the right! Its hidden :)

I'm tempted to ride tomorrow as well but I better not.. Haha. The new KTM was simply amazing, absolutely loved it. Wicked control, so light and nimble but surprisingly alot of power. Look forward to racing it _b.

I also found some gnarly hillclimbs that Ive never seen before, this one was huge!

Ive been redrawing this for a while now, KTM Boy should have updated the website, it was spose to be 2m x 1m but "given the current economic situation" that got scaled down, still the map is there 1 at signon and 1 in the smoking/covered area. how big do you want it, its currently 2m x 1m lol. You should be able to download the one i posted and zoom to 100%. should be readable.....

For those that dont know..... there is a map at the sandpit 1000x600 pretty sure there is one at the sign in shed, the other is in the middle of the carpark "the smoking area" theres 36 trails named and plenty more to come, there all colour coded from easy, enduro or Expert and really opens up the forest rather than following the same old trails.....
Download the attached file below then open it, it will be much more readable.

You may be quite right, not every track has been named, adopt it , shape it, prune it and give it a name....call it RECKLESS...

Don't give me any credit for any of the tracks they are not of my doing, although some tracks that AJ and I did start off by just free riding to link different parts are now established tracks, we did little other than just weave our way through the trees in the early days of the current regime and the Sandpit guys have done the work to open them to the masses and they have done a great job.
I have a sponsorship deal with the Sandpit, that is why my stickers can be found in various parts. I preferred this option to having naming rights to a track and having large signs put up.

Which raises an interesting point, is it ok to free ride in the sandpit, not that we would have last time we were in there :msn-wink:

A good place to free ride is the Dead forest, both north and south but heading in the right direction.

Free riding is cool but because our part of the forest is young its a bit of a mission due to the pruning waste and under growth. Take a pruning saw with ya next time:clap:

I suppose the main thing is to ensure that when you get back onto a track you are heading in the right direction. So unless you are totally familiar with all the tracks I wouldn't recommend going off piste. I got lost yesterday and ended up going around in circles for 30 minutes. Made a freakin cool track though.

that trail of doom is poo. Its just a long twisty boring trail. I really rate the woodchopper and that new one Blakes one??? and that one that starts off at the end of blakes one with the hill climb to start off. Can't wait to get out when I get back! Been months since I been on my bike!!!

Did a bit of free riding last thursday, nobody but 2 of us in the whole park. Out in the Dead forrest and even made it thru/ around the tussock to the superbowl. There's even some cool little climbs that go fairly steep and technical.... Fell off lots:laugh:
Found an interesting new track that is marked 33 on the new map. Goes out by the farmland and if you miss the last right turn (hard right up hill) you end up crashing thru the cutty grass and back out onto the road. Simple two wire fence to cross then back down the road into the park!
You can scare the sh1t out of the person who saw you dissapear in the oppisite direction about an hour earlier just to come back thru the front gate. Good fun!

i like the short track that comes out just behind the toilet in the carpark, not on the map but it have a great uphill on it. just watch the tree stump in the center of the track at the base to the hill. bent my rear brake rotor on it a couple of weeks ago.
