went to fill the bike up yesterday there was a que of 2-3 cars at each pump so i wait for my turn to come and park resonably close to the pump just as i do a cage stops behind me a few cm away from my number plate . im normaly a quiet person so ignord it filled up bike went to pay. look out the window to see the prick leaning on my bike to get to the pump when i went back to my bike the asshole said in a verry rude way that i should be more considerate next time and move it away so that other people dont have to wait . again being quiet i said whatever and started the bike he turns around and starts tryn to give me a leqture . by this time id had enuf so i told him he better f@#kn shut his mouth or ill smash his face in for touching my bike. his wife who was in the car wound up the windows and locked the doors and the guy walked in a hurried manner out of my way it was bloody halerious

just quietly wouldnt have the guts 2 follow up on it tho :2thumbsup:lol::lol:

Thats ok... bikers are assholes too. My then Fiancee Lis was on the last Coast to Coast with me. Everyone was filling up at Woodville, we lined up, me next to the pump and her outboard of me so we could use the one pump and pay once. I filled, passed the pump to her and moved my bike away. Went inside to pay and turned around when I heard everyone swearing. Her bike was on the ground and she was bitching and trying to pick it up. I raced out to help and she stormed inside swearing about a fat ass - I assumed she meant the bike. After a minute she calmed enough to explain a F*&Kwit on a panneired bike had tried to push up the inside of her while she was still filling and dumped her Ninja on its side. No apology, no help righting it and no checking to see if all was ok.

By then he'd bailed, lucky him as the rest of the Ashurst bikes showed up and they were pissed with what they heard!

My knuckle things are like soft CF... Doesn't quite work ha ha.
Hopefully a grab on their collar, knee to the gut, then elbow to the jaw... Worked once, but only because I was so lucky to pull it off ha ha.

Maybe I should invest in hard knuckled gloves, so I don't need an elbow :scooter:

I'm in total agreement with the "don't touch the fucking bike" sentiments.

On the other hand it's polite to move your bike if there's a space in front of the shop and it's a busy station. It will reduce the likelyhood of having to smash some prick who's knocked your bike over so it's a win-win. Like all things biking it's better to avoid being the situation in the first place.

I usually move my bike with my helmet off so there's no doubt about me riding off with a tank of gas and not once has anyone ever said anything about it

its a learning curve.... shit drivers and shit bikers... its the same as shit people ... including pedestrians ... we all do shit things... I give way to bikes & fast cars ... if they look safe.. if they are behaving like right w...kers... I let them know... but 99% of bikers that pass me bike or car... I give a good vibes too..

So if the roles were reversed, do any of us here think that guy would have moved his car so the bike could get in after him??

Not f***ing likely!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you were in the car and not on the bike would he have tried to reach over your car??

Again. Not f***ing likely!!!!

Why the hell should it make a difference what vehicle you're in?? You still don't touch another persons vehicle.

I would have told him where to go as well!!!

Never the less, he's not wrong you know. Whether he's a bloody hipocrite is impossible to tell unless we can prove he wouldn't do the same if the situation was reversed.

Yes, most people don't bother moving their vehicles forward when it's busy on the forecourt, but that's no excuse for being an inconsiderate arsehole. It's gotta start somewhere.

The asshole should not be touching your bike... end of story...

as for moving the bike for an asshole they can get fucked... you are a customer of the garage buying a product which needs to be payed for... many garages do not release the pump until the previous lot is payed for anyway...

I bet he would not move the car for you so stick to your guns...

Its funny because it may only take a few minutes to go in and pay then get on your bike and go.... in the overall scheme of things what's a few minutes???
you could be held up more at a set of lights on your journey... or a set of road works etc etc... to many get wound up over time... funny thing is time carries on as does life but to many get stressed by so called lack of it.... but its the same for all, even as you get older it seems to go quicker:crazy:

Exactly...hate it when cars or bikes hold up a pump.

What he said.

Ngaruawahia BP's a prime example. Given the volume of traffic that uses it, I never fill up there and leave the bike at the pump; I fill up, ride over to a parking spot and then go in and pay.

Leaving your vehicle at the pump while you go fuck about in the shop when there's big queues is inconsiderate. And if some poor bastard got grumpy about being made to wait, I think I'd try to be understanding. He was probably having a difficult day.

So, congratulations on acting like an ape, Fly_boy. How about next time you take an approach other than mindless aggression? A shrug and a simple apology for the inconvenience would have cost you nothing.

Really? I've seen heaps of people move their cars after filling when they plan to shop around or grab a coffee etc.

I've also had many people move forward a metre or so after filling just so I could fit in behind them on the bike. I assume it's because they've seen me waiting and were being nice.

But yeah the majority of people are self centered wankers when it comes to road etiquette and that fully extends to filling up with petrol. I don't feel obligated to move unless I'm planning to fuck around having a drink or something that will take ages unless it's mega busy.

i had a guy pull the pump over my bike to get to his double parked car, had the hose resting on my buell when i came out.
i told him it was an expensive bike and he seemed to get the message.

however, cars don't move on till they have paid and neither do I unless i feel like it at the time. and if i don't feel like it tough shit car.

sometimes i just want to dose people in petrol and pull my lighter out.

I would have reversed so that my rear tyre was touching his bumper, held the front brake, and 'cleaned' the diesel off my rear tyre by giving it some revs and ditching the clutch. It would be his fault for parking too close that I burnt it with tyre rubber. :bash:

I was filling up at the gas station at whangamata - it was busy, there was a car full of youngins in beach apparel being a bit loud, pulled in behind me. As I went to pay they yelled some abuse about shifting the bike first.
I paid, came back and hopped on the bike, before I got it started they pulled up real close and blasted the horn.......... I got a bit angry

Now I'm not small - big really, I hadn't shaved for a while and have a No 1 hair cut - I guess when I'm mad I look a bit intimidating

Got off the bike all calm like, took my helmet off and started walking toward them......
There jolliness turned to an 'ah o' look... car in reverse and they were gone.

Sure you do. I did it all the time when I drove a cage everywhere. Especially if I planned to get a drink and a pie and generally stuff around.

Pretty standard stuff at any busy NI gas station. Obviously the key is to drive to a free park in front of the shop so you're clearly not doing a runner.

I suspect you've never come across it because most south island gas stations don't get busy enough to warrant it

I call into the local Shell several times a day to fill , top up yard / loan cars etc for work.
One day i had a silly bloke just busting to get to the pump and he was so important he just had to be next . I finished , went to pay and he leant out his half open door to yell at me for taking so long to pay , Huh? . He was yelling a cussing like a true Welshman . I was trying to be polite as i was in my uniform with company logo and name and stuff on my shirt but he just kept on at me. Even the lady in the next bay told him to shut up lol.
I decided to piss this asshole in his bloody Nissan and went round to the pump side , out of his view as i was in a ute with a canopy. I changed the 91 nozzle with the Diesel nozzle and got in the ute and left. That will teach him i thought.
About an hour later i was passing and i saw this dumb assed arrogant prick sucking all the Diesel out of his tank lol .
I kinda felt a bit bad but , its always fair during war isnt it?

Whe I get gas I leave my bike where it is but I make sure I don't f&ck around, pay and get out if its busy. I haven't struck abuse or anything but if someone dared to touch my Ducati the last few seconds of their life would be very painful.

We have a saying in the old country that my dear old Papa used to say "You toucha my bike(I think he actually said car but it needed adapting), I breaka you face" and I guess cause he's Northern italian people knew to take him seriously and not test their luck.

There's been plenty of times I've moved both the bike and the cage. If you do move your vehicle, whatever it is, sweet. If you don't, so be it.

The rule is you don't interfer/touch someone else's vehicle. Easy!

After all, what happens if you accidentally damage it? It's your arse in the poo. And it won't matter how nicely you behave, the owner will be pissed off. And have every right to be.
