2002 ZR-7S.....this photo was taken on Burry Port harbour in West Wales, UK. On one of the few days this year that it didn't rain! What I'd give for some NZ weather!

I haven't noticed one of those here ... how does it perform?

TBH....you don't see that many of them anywhere.....as it's not a fashionable bike. And as you know, everything today is based on image! :D
It's 750cc, 76bhp, 5 speed.....and retro based with a lot of modern enhancements. Pulls well enough from low revs and no high power band to reach to get it moving. It's smooth, handles very well indeed, not sportsbike standard, but it's not far off. Braking is fairly good, and what I like is that it's so comfortable.
I had a Bandit 12 before that, and although there's no comparison in power, it's a much more enjoyable bike in other respects. Plus, I don't get anywhere any slower than I did on the B12, cos on twisty country roads, this bike can surprise a lot of people. Generally, it's a very underated and overlooked bike.

I worked up that way years back ... clearing the entrances of tunnels for the railways ... is that line still open ??

We stayed in shearers quarters on a farm and drank at the Whangamomona Hotel ... great part of the country !!!

Since this has turned into the kawasaki forum:cool:

I do have one question for other kwak owners. If the clutch starts slipping (due to the inevitable thrashing bikes such as this undergo) what is the likely part to need replacing? It's just clicked past 90 k's and I'm trying to gauge how much it might cost to get it sorted (everything else is sweet).

I'm guessing that kawasaki have a fairly standard clutch design so is there a known weak point? discs? spring? the whole bloody assembly?

Just had to do the clutch on my ZZR250 at 95k. The cost of the bits was:

Gasket: 23.71
4 x Spring: 9.79 ea
Clutch Kit: 88.84

This is all excluding G.S.T.
