View Full Version : Stoner vs Rossi

Stoner can ride the Ducati but so far it seems to be a real career graveyard for anybody else.
Yes, that's pretty well summed up Stoner's team mates and the satellite Ducati rider's career direction on the Ducati - cept hasn't Melandri risen from the dead - in a big way. <_<
Team employers will be keeping his name and contact details in their diaries......... That is - Non-Ducati Team employers..............

From the Stoner knockers corner today!!
He would have been in trouble if the race had gone another 3 or 4 laps, than again so would have Rossi too.
There ya go..

From the Stoner knockers corner today!!
Where are these "Stoner knockers".
Just because someone disagrees with your pre-season ejaculation about him, hardly makes them Stoner knockers.
Perhaps it just makes them Crasherfromwayback knockers...

Did anyone else notice the Yamahas came out on on harder slicks (didn't have the white sidewall) wonder who picked them ?
Stoner did well to win Pete I'll give him that . Quite a few others shone in the first segment though and made him look average in the wet.
Melandri !! bet he had a big smile under that hat, breezing past his old Ducati team mate.
Jorge sure proved his metal huh, after that slip off !!!!
But it was the 250's for me ! we're going to miss them. Gaz.

Pedrosa may have lost his chance being injured and all, so this is shaping up to be a three way battle. Could be the best season in years.
And what a 250 race! Snr Simoncello is a naughty boy, but he did much the same last year. The Race Director stayed at the same Agritourismo as us last year and speaking to him after the race he seemed to think it was a "boys will be boys" scenario. Obviously he's still of the same mind.

Seriously, show me one post in this thread that could construed as "knocking" Stoner.

Round these parts doesn't purely mean this thread. Pretty sure if I could be arsed I'd find you one though. Hope you enjoyed the race.

Certainly enjoyed that GP, 125's for the corner speed/changing of direction, 250's for the comeback kid (Pasini) & his last lap super effort & The MotoGP boys all had a pretty good story to tell from that one.

I'm hoping that Moto2 will be a worthy successor.
At 150kg/155hp it's going to be different, that's for sure.

Yeah alot of people seem to be against change but I think thats par for the course. I totally agree that it will be a sad day when there are no more 250's around but things change! With the reported 90 odd entries for the class it certainly sounds like it appeals to the masses and we will see a full 40+ grid for the first time in ages!!

Ah good to see Rossi Back on the highest part of the podium again fantastic race for first place betwwen Rossi and Lorenso in the last three laps in many ways it was a race to rival last years race at Leguna seca. Although Stoner was out of the top Two he rode a brave race to maintain third place considering he may have been riding with a case of influenza

Certainly a masterful race by mr Rossi. If you leave the door open like that...he's always gonna stuff it in past ya! 106 points each...the season just gets better and better!

Haha when i watched that move i thought Rossi was a goner for sure. But the way he pulled it off was stunning.
But you get the feeling it was a win or bin move coz Lorenzo has been showing him around so far this year.
Stoner looked like death after the race, but oh wot coulda been had he been 100%
Either way an excellent scrap by all and hopefully a foretaste of many more races to come this year.
As the commentators mentioned it was the first time since 2006 that there has been a last lap passing move in a MotoGP race.
All I can say is - WHAT A BLOODY RACE.................
You can say that again! Now why can't it be that good every weekend! Assen in 2 weeks time, not too bad a circuit and has produced some close finishes in the past. Although since they modified it a few years ago it's lost it's "soul".

Shit I thought Stoner was gonna pass out on the podium. He was not a well boy.
Awesome race though, but would've been better if someone could've kept the two Yammies honest and stopped 16 odd laps of cat and mouse

The Yamaha certainly looks like a great package this year...and both Rossi and Lorenzo are riding them unbelievably well for sure. I'm thinking Assen may be kind to the Ducati. I'm sticking with Stoner for this round.
Tell Steve he's fucked.

Best get your money on them with the Aussie TAB then Bruva.
Pedrosa is paying $51.00, and Dovi $101.00!!!
Capirossi $301.00 and Melandri $401.00. Could be good money if it rains!
