Well after 16 years of riding Guzzi road bike's I needed a change.
So I tried Triumph, first it was a 03 Daytona 955i, great bike but I would not keep my license on it.
So brought a 08 Sprint and it is a great bike to and good for touring.
But as good as it is something was still missing.
As it turned out they had to many cylinders and I prefer twin and singles.
And I had thought about a Cruiser now and then.
So I tried out a few of different makes and the one bike I kept on over looking was the Triumph Speed Master and America as they have a smaller motor.
Well after missing out on test rides on these bikes for years I asked Street and Sport to have a ride on one.
They said (as they normally do) fine, go to Little River for a Coffee and just get back before we close.
Well what can I say, apart from what I liked riding it.
I had a ball riding it and to think I had been side stepping them for awhile now.
They are light weight corner well have enough power to get the job done.
And with the factory louder pipes they sound great as well with the help of the 270 deg crank. (to the 360 deg crank the other 900's have)
So I hope I have found the right bike for me now.
I may buy another Sports bike, but I think I will keep this one as I did with my Guzzi's, well the one that we will keep and that is a nice MKIII Le Mans.

Ok that's odd, did not think you would end up on a cruiser, if you enjoy it and it has two wheels does the style matter?
Have fun and I look forward to seeing it.

Good on you.
I don't take my riding gear to Street & Sport anymore - they 'make' you ride stuff ...... stuff you really should not be considering .......:lol:

Well the new injected one's have about six more pony's over the carbed ones and a three litre larger fuel tank.
Which seem to mean 300 to 350k's if you can get every drop out of the tank.
All I can say is ride one and then make your mind up.
I rode two up for 550K's at a good speed in the weekend.
Top gear is like an overdrive so you can cruise at a real good speed.
The only thing I will miss is the power you need for those quick over take's in the hill's between corners.
You know the ones you should not do.

Great choice! They are what I was looking at, but didn't get to test ride ....
I particularly like the look of the America .... but it was a bit out of my price range when I bought my cruiser.
I'm sure you will enjoy riding a cruiser. I hadn't ridden them before either, and its a bit of an adjustment ..... but I have really enjoyed the rides I have had so far. :niceone:

Interesting concept.
Shouldn’t be hard to sport on the road, or hear for that matter
Enjoy the ride

Cool bike Rik - just remember that (most of the time) you'll have to let the sprotsbikes vamoos into the twisty bit now.
Can't wait to see the America in 'the flesh'.

I must say that I do love the sound of a twin.
Don't think I could buy three or four cylinder again. (Apart from a Rocket III)

Does that mean we have to go to the Bank again?

You just know you that you just have to have "that" bike sometime's.
I will miss a sprotsbike now and then.
But for the bigger part of my riding I think I will be a happy camper.
On the sweepers it can keep up (not at race pace of course), but in the tight hills to Duvauchelle my foot was on the ground though a lot of the corners.
And that was real fun in it's own way, as the bike behaved well when push hard-ish and did nothing to scare me.:scooter:
