ALL ATTENDING TRACK DAY PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY

I want one and all to have a bloody good time so there are some points that are NON negotiable.
1) Bike setup/gear setup.

ALL BIKES and RIDERS GEAR going on the track must be up to scratch .
Heres a guide to refresh memories
No sharp/edges/loose parts
Tyres must be road legal for road tyres. (slicks to have visible dot marks)
ball ends on all levers to be in place.
.Mirrors removed or taped up.
No leaking fluids.--- OIL/fork oil/glycol/
GLASS headlights to be removed or taped up to prevent glass flying if you crash .Plastic headlights are fine
Pack rack uppers to be removed -L arms to be taped over-preferably plugged.(plastic wine corks are good for this )
Handle bar ends must have a solid end--NO open tube ends (PLASTIC WINE CORKS MAKE GOOD PLUGS)
Brakes to work propperly FRONT and REAR.
RIDING GEAR
A full face helmet good fitting with no damage into the shell.
LEATHER gloves,
bike boots,
cudura 2 piece, leather one piece or two piece suit.
A back protector isn't compulsary but VERY strongly suggested

THE ONUS IS ON YOU TO MAKE SURE YOUR BIKE/GEAR IS UP TO SCRATCH
If in doubt just fix it. -basicly if you feel you have to ask-is this ok? the answer is no
I wont be scrutineering but if I see anything odvious you'll be fixing it or going home.

-2 RULES FOR THE DAY -just a reminder
1 Show concideration for everybody else out there -
2 Stick to your line -Dont try to get out of anybodys way .
3 when overtaking make sure you can do so safely. If in doubt -DON'T
5 If a slower rider is holding you up use rule 3
8 when leaving the track pull to the far right side of the track and nearing pits exit hold your left hand up to let other riders know you are leaving the track.
9 if you are unlucky enough to run off the track-Raise your hand in the air to let us know you're ok.Push the bike away from the track to a safe place as fast as possible -recovery vehicle will pick you up or you can rejoin if bike is undamaged. The nature of the track means if you crashed in a spot theres a good chance someone else is likely to -If you dont move then I will have to stop the session untill you dont present a danger to yourself or other riders.

12) the PITS speed limit is 40km/h and is NOT a stunt zone--stoppies wheelies etc -I concider this dangerous riding and will treat it as such

18) YOU are responsible for your pit area -keeping it safe and keeping it clean
Track day timetable

Anybody worried that they'll get "stuck" behind a slow rider or as one elderly gent phrased it "Get blasted past by some red misted knob jocky" youll actually be amazed.
What actually happens is that the track has so few people on it that theres room for everyone. First thing in the morning is the busiest then people relax and just buzz in and out at will .

So I finally rode a bike on a track, at my late age an' all! Valentino must be tossing in his sleep at the thought of my arrival on the racing scene! Thanks to you all, and especially Frosty for a great day out.

As to my marshalling skills: my apologies to the couple of people I directed onto the track only to discover I'd missed a bike or two behind the pit wall - it wasn't as easy as it looked, but hopefully it was a help when I got it right.

I'll be back!

Things I learned yesterday.
1) KB is full of fucken good fellas and fullesses
2) A foot slipping off a footpeg entering a corner can make for an interesting time and the gravel pit at taupo is great on turn 4
3) it IS posible to get blisters on your hands from riding all day.
4) I LOVE riding gsxr600's at a mid speed

Last ART did approx. 120kms. Friday 280kms.
Total on my "indulgence" now 500kms. Bike seems to love going round corners, despite my imputs. Loving it and can see me having a long, long and enjoyable learning curve.
Must also thank the fast riders for their consideration when passing us learners.
Put some faces to some infamous and colourful KB characters. Nice people.

Another awesome day frosty, tad under 300kms clocked up on the GSXR on friday, and drunk over 30litres of fuel, my conti race attacks are shagged, learning more and more every time i go. And was good fun dicing it out with you.

some photos can be found here. http://www.cajun.co.nz/frosty

Nothing fanastic, just me taking some snaps from pit straight, while others where riding the banana bike, most of them was of the three bikes we had (yellow gsxr, aprilia, r1)

nice one of quasi on a chook chaser

What a day !! Totaly enjoyed it !! (maybe too much at one stage:Oops:) Dunno what happened i think i was just pumping laps out an got narrow minded. So i do appologise to everyone i held up from heading back out. I did find after Frosty had words with me i rode even better in the arvo . i used 3 tanks of gas and did over 300km's on track. Id really like to thank Frosty for putting this on it was the best day for track time ive ever had at taupo, i reckon i must've done 50-60 laps. Great great bunch of people and no injuries didnt see the ambo people move much all day (gotta be a good thing). Came away with things i need to work on (im not sure how im gunna tackle it tho .... frosty ??) Gotta get on the gas quicker etc. I could do a day like that every day, i'll be in for the next one for sure !!
