Oh it is sad being back at work and having to suffer with the memories of a wonderful 5500kms riding.

Blog is definately worth reading. I can't wait for the book to come out.

Obviously you had an awesome time away and a bit of a pity about the couple of close calls. I guess that's why you pack 2 sets of underwear.

Awesome blog, i just relived most of the trip. Shit that was a big last day you guys had. Pity you didnt go up the west coast, i did and had very little moisture A little round frans Joseph but not too much. I took two days to go up the island and had a great run. I was a little worried about the forecast threatening gale force winds but they never came thankfully.
It was my first Southern cross too I will definitly be doing the next one

Oh it is sad being back at work and having to suffer with the memories of a wonderful 5500kms riding.

So True!!

.......... Shit that was a big last day you guys had. Pity you didnt go up the west coast, i did and had very little moisture A little round frans Joseph but not too much. ................

We missed the Buller Gorge but I hadn't been through Tapanui or around SH's 72 & 70. I think I would prefer the West Coast.

............... Those roadworks north of Moerewa were something else...................

They were OK the next day after being rolled, but Tuesday night was pretty exciting!!

Sounds like a great month trip. Don't know if I would want to do it with your time constraints

A Grand Challenge / Chatto Creek or two get one used to staying in the saddle. A month........we'd be running out of fresh option by the 4th time!

Mate, you are supposed to ride to the end of the Tolaga Bay wharf - or it doesn't count! We got 2 ST's up there a year ago...

Excellent report as always!
