I have to leave this old girl in the States, just done 20,000 miles on her.
But I will still be gay when I get home as I have an XR200, (No Key)
So would be a nice reminder of the fantastic trip in the states.

I had a Honda key ring but took it off because it was a bit bulky for my liking and, I also have a Honda patch, with nothing to put it on apart from my desk.

I have a little red 1989 Honda VT250 Spada.
She is old and rattly but works really hard to do everything I ask. In her life no one has ever given her any TLC untill a few weeks ago when I got her.
She had never had a new chain, new sprockets or by the look of it even an oil change. Needless to say she is being pampered now as a lady should be.
A single key is all I have for her and a pretty key ring is something she would just love to make her feel special and loved.

Sheesh...my poor 'lufferly' was in a closet before she came to our gargre...how sad is that?
Neglected, and locked away in a closet
Plus she is old, much older than your Spada, and I have run out of money to accessorise her as she so rightly deserves.

I have a 10 year old son who rides a Kawasaki. (He got what Dad could find). And the thing is with kids is that they see the world through kids eyes. They get a poster at a motorcycle race event and it's a huge deal for them. I'm a big fan of the race teams that create these little things for kids because it's these things that they remember and treasure. It's these things that grow the next generation of riders.
So I can imagine his surprise when he comes home to find there is a letter waiting for him. And then he rips away at the envelope and to his utter astonishment finds this most beautiful key ring. His eyes will go wide, and he'd be so damned chuffed. You'd almost think it was Christmas. And then he'd want to know where it came from and who sent it. And then I'd tell him the story of this generous person on KB.
There are two things that always astonish me in life;
One is how a dog will greet you after you've been out for a few hours like they haven't seen you in 10 years. I think people can learn a lot from dogs.
The second is how children see the world. They enjoy simpler things and know how to make things simple. As an adult I never take the time to enjoy a cardboard box as much as I did when I was a child and neither do I hold a key ring in awe of it's beauty.
So my son rides a Kawasaki and your gift may be the thing that makes him a Honda lover. He doesn't have a brand thing running yet. And he doesn't have a key ring. Knowing him as I do I reckon he'd be thrilled to receive the Honda keyring.
I appreciate your generous offer and hope the key ring finds a good home.
Cheers.

After a small amount of debating with myself, I ended up tossing between phiretrojan and zoecen ...
And the winner is ZOECEN
- that crying a little in the helmet thing is just so pathetic it made me laugh every time!
If I ever come across a kawasaki keyring, I will definitely need to post it up obviously.
Cheers guys and gals.
PS: Allan, I think you should get bungbung's keyring for swingin off ya doodle, much prettier. :D

Thanks Burtha & Zeocen for the kind offer. Zeocen I got your PM and have responded.
We've had a real laugh at this and my son has a story he can repeat a few times.
"Branson" (said 10 year old) is sitting here right now and we've just read the three pages of this thread. (to bring him up to speed).
His eyes lit up when we got to my post and he goes "so did i win the Honda key ring!" ... ahhhh...no son, but something else has happened so we need to read on.
Finally after three pages he gets it. The bloke that won the Honda Keyring has posted he has a Kawasaki key ring for him.
So I respond to Zeocen's PM and I'm 3/4's of the way through the post when Branson says to me;
"Dad"
(yes)
"What do I do with the key ring?"
(some kids... I don't know... thinking that this is obvious I say..."you put your key on it")
"But Dad, I don't have a key!".
At this point I have a blank look trying to figure out what he's talking about before I realise "shit" he's right his bike doesn't have a key as I burst out laughing. The kids bikes don't have keys just the more grown up bikes.
He then asks me to explain why I'm laughing ... and well, you get the story. I wrote this whole story thinking if he gets the key ring it'll be a neat surprise. So I didn't tell him about the post etc. Yes it's a neat surprise the only thing is there isn't a key. So now he'll have the Kawasaki key ring waiting for the day he buys a proper Kawasaki.
lol. How dumb is my post now. I load his bike onto the trailer and off, I kick it over and I still forgot he has no key. When my wife gets home she's going to get good mileage out of this.
The key ring will now be a permanent reminder of the story.
Sometimes it is better to have not spoken.....
Cheers. (We're still laughing about this - it's going to be a long day.)

Thanks he got the keyring. Neat drawing on the envelope. His first question on seeing the keyring was "why isn't it Green?"... which is a good question really.
It's a Kawasaki keyring with a red Kawasaki logo. But he's chuffed.
Thanks Zeocen.
