carver

not through a bin either, in the tip of the left hand thumb, there is a hole!
had em for about 1 year, but i never wore them much, maybe 50-30x max.
i have some blurry photo's, but it seems like the leather aint much good.
why would it wear through there, it never touches anything while riding
Are they those cheap and nasty quasi gloves?

Are they those cheap and nasty quasi gloves?
they were free quasi gloves, given to me to test em, and the test is over.
what would make the leather go like that on the tips?
would it be reconstructed leather?
the leather aint much good.

I guess then the obvious question is, what do you use them for when you are not riding?

My right hand glove did that in exactly the same place.
It was because the lights switch didnt have a cover on it and only just a flat metal post. It wore though my gloves in about a year.

I have some Rev-it H20s and they are wearing a hole in the palm cushion pad. I've put it down to how I put pressure on the throttle grip.
I reckon it's how you use your thumb on the indicator mate. It just wears out.

1/ you had them for over a year and have worn a hole in them from doing whatever it is that you do,
2/ No I dont want to see them they where a sample that we didnt go with that I KINDLY gave to you
3/ We address any quality issues and respond accordingly, we dont understand your agenda but arent interested in it either, suggesting they are reconstituted leather is obviously a Bait on your behalf as is this entire thread.

im not having a dig at you, im asking a question
i have never had gloves fall apart in this way.
if the label on these gloves was DriRider (which are shit) you would be slagging them off and saying how much better your stuff is.
the tips have always seemed a little stiff to be honest, thats why i asked the reconstituted question.
is such short product life normal?
i mean being worn 30x~ max on road rides

It looks like severe heat has been applied or the leather has been burnt.
My Quasi 104's are excellent (best gloves I've ever owned) and I don't forsee this problem occuring with my gloves.

they did discolor fast, could it be a manufacturing error?
could it be caused by the greases and oils from my fingers?

I had similar happen with my gloves, it turned out a combination of the oil from my skin and the continual rubbing against the "end" of the handgrip.
Have found that because of the way I hold my grips it just seems to happen, however the one paid of QUASI gloves I have owned have been great, but still had signed of the same thing happening. Unfortunately because some lovely student decided he wanted some of my stuff more than I did I never got a chance to find out how far down it did wear.

I just wore a small hole in a pair of Held gloves. First finger left hand where the kangaroo skin constantly rubs on the clutch lever. It took four years so I'm not unhappy, and I do have other gloves.
The noise of the guys walking around above my head replacing my roof reminds me that this might not be a good time to lash out on new gloves...

Hang on a moment. In Quasi's defence they were prototypes/samples that didn't make the grade - for whatever reason Quasi decided they weren't good enough to bear the logo. So he gave them to you.
I think you need to ask the question of the manufacturer that wanted Quasi's business rather then Quasi who decided the gloves weren't good enough.
Maybe the reason he didn't go with them was that they wear out too fast when you toss off in them - a point that seems to have been well proven in this instance at least.
This gives me renewed faith in Quasi's brand since he doesn't accept this kind of crap into his product lines.
I've said it before and I'll say it again - Quasi's products are great and are good value for money. However I still have difficulty with his general approach to people.

I'm not dissing quasi's stuff, I dont own any of his gear but i know a lot of people who do and they all love it.
But wouldn't he make it clear, at the start of the thread, that the reason he decided not to follow on with that model was because of the quality?
Then there would of been no argument in the first place.

As McJim pointed out these where samples, All samples that I get are tested by riders before we bring them to market (if we bring them to market) for example we have two sets of cordura gear out being tested and two leather Jackets being tested, we will likely GIFT those items to the riders wearing them for us, we wouldnt expect these guys to come back to an online forum a year later bagging us about their performance, reason we wouldnt expect it is, it would be .......well, highly rude and unlikely as it goes outside normal decent behaviour in my book.
The fact that you where GIFTED samples and have chosen to then bag the product a year or more later to me spells out clearly your attitude and your agenda in making this thread, furthermore the fact that I actually even offered you a free tyre only a week ago (to help you out) and even that was two days prior you publicly on this forum called my children gay makes me feel stupid frankly, I guess also as McJim pointed out the way I deal with people does need to be adjusted, ie stop being such a sucker.

Fair enough, part of the consumer guarantees act means that you sould expect a reasonable use out of the equipment you buy.
However you stated that the tips of the fingers became discoloured and went stiff correct? Why not ask Quasi about this at that stage? It certainly look that credible that you have had the gloves for a year, claim to have only used them 30-50 times and complain about a hole in the thumb and when things don't go fully your way you now point out there was a fault when you had only had them for 2 weeks?
Now you're not exactly a shrinking violet so I doubt you would have had problems speaking up as soon as there was any sort of issue with any equipment you had. I am also wondering why the glove in your picture looks like a right hand glove when you are complaining about the left hand glove?

:killingme Explains a lot! Well Quasie your sample gloves clearly were not made for Carver's needs.
Here ya go, samples black in size Large with armour, send me a self addressed courier envelope and theyre yours.
lol
Nah thats cool, I wasn't really that serious. Anyway I have tiny hands and I like my current gloves, lasted six years to date, hell....you should see my jacket. When huge holes start appearing, then I'll look at new gloves.

they did discolor fast, could it be a manufacturing error?
could it be caused by the greases and oils from my fingers?
*Also keep in mind that they are a **SAMPLE**, which I want to reinforce what quasi said
"they didn't go with it" Therefore it is not an officially sold Quasi product! (unless I'm mistaken)
And dude.... free gloves that have lasted a year! That's awesome!!!
Now the money that you "saved" can be put into one of the best pairs on the market ^^ :jerry:

this not a issue with quasi, its with hi s gear, so, get that though your head before shooting off....
I think you missing the point entirely and are guility of shooting off yourself.
If you have a problem with a company, that AFTER you have talked to them and given them the opportunity to remedy it, then I'd support you to name and shame publicly.
However what you have done by ambush posting in this forum, where Quasi lilely has a lot of customer's, speaks volumes about you. I take it from the above that you didn't call him, or raise it with him in any way before starting this thread.
PS. You should be more worried about the holes in you (your personality) than any hole in a free-be set of gloves.

Let this thread die please.lets get this clear...carver got some free samples from Quasi, used it for about a year and then whinged because it has a hole..........quick maybe its time to get the waaaaaaaaaaambulance out and have a sookie......
Carver surely common sense would tell you that if quasi is giving you a sample pair of gloves for free that he isnt going to carry that they wont be up to scratch...you got a year's wear out of a free pair of gloves. be happy. Shit I paid dollars for a pair of Neo gloves that only lasted 4 months before they had holes in them.
:jerry::jerry::jerry::grouphug:
another quasi groupie?
read my first post, why did it get a hole there?
This guy gets FREE gloves, gets a hole after a year and he comes here complaining!?? Don't be such a homo Carver, you got them free as well as a bloody free tyre so you should be greatful.
Wish someone would throw me some free gloves my way.

my old gloves had a blow out in the thumb too, could be poos material, could be from working the switch gear too hard, could be your thumb is touching the underside of the lever when you ride ? maybe you have bionic thumbs ?
what does it matter anyway man, i think it has been said he doesn't sell those gloves ? your just making yourself look like a cunt for slagging off free gear after the fact..

Why would he want to look into a problem with a product he isnt selling. It was a sample that wasnt used. I dont understand how you cant grasp this ?

Good point.
Sounds to me that there was a good reason quasi didn't continue with the product past the testing/prototype phase maybe he figured the manufacturer didn't treat the leather properly or didn't supply leather up to his standards.
If it dried up after a couple of weeks why didn't you chuck something on it to soften it up.
Leather thats dry is not far from stuffed no matter how new or high-quality it is.

Carver it seems you need to pull your head in and take the hit on this, as you seem to me to be arguing a loosing battle with what should be a red face.
the main thing you cant seem to absorb into your brain are these two critical points
1. They are Samples, not QMOTO product
2. They where free to you as a kind gesture
Had they been our actual product purchased by you we would be interested in the situation and would likely remedy it with the appropriate process from you, this isnt neccessary however as its (again) a sample and not our product and you didnt pay for them.
your comment above again promotes your attitude and agenda in trying to drag our good company name down, yet you dont realise that these are samples which we rejected already, why is that hard for you to understand that.
I think you need to grow up radically and realise youre wrong, have acted like a fool and lastly you should apologize to us for your behaviour towards us, our kids and our business.
to everyone else on this thread thanks for your kind comments, squillions of rep and your continued support.

they are bear the quasimoto logo, so they are your product.
i have nothing against you quasi, your customer service is great, and you do try really hard to please the person your serving

sorry to jump in here but some basic facts about samples.
sometimes companies bring in product try them get feed back, then decide weather to stock them or not.
This is normally done directly with the supplier and the tester not in a public forum.
I think from now on quasi give your glove to people who you know will give you constructive feedback in private.
I dont know any of the people concerned and I do not have any qmoto gear at present.
I think this whole tread is wrong on so many levels because if you are given something free normally you dont complain about the quality well publicly anyway you normaly go back to the supplier to to get a remedy it doesnt sound like that has happened in this case.
