I miss my bike! Simple statement really, but this weekend has really brought home to me how much I miss my bike.

Saturday, a gentle and very cruisy ride up through some nice rural roads, a few interesting corners and a pizza with a few friends at Waipu. Back down the short way, and a drink, and a chat then home.

Sunday, pootle down to have coffee with a friend, good company, cruise towards home and stop at Puhoi to see who is there. Catch up with a few members we have not seen in a while, and one we have never met. Fantastic!

Great weather (apart from a bit of rain on Saturday) good company, nice roads, and I pillioned all weekend :weep:

Now dont get me wrong I love pillioning too, I got to give the universal pillion wave :tugger: to a bike coming in the opposite direction, 2 up, bare arms and bare legs on the pair of them, rider wearing a fluro vest for safety of course, but...

I miss my bike.

What did you guys do this weekend?

I also went for a Saturday ride to Waipu! Mine didn't have a pizza in it though, but I did get the last pie and an indifferent cup of coffee at the local cafe.

Nice spot, I had not been there before. :niceone:

You did not have pizza at Waipu? Far out, some of the yummiest pizza I have ever eaten, indifferent pies suck the biggest kumera, opps, just read it was the coffee that was indifferent, cranberry juice at the Pizza barn is to die for

 sorry to remind you. FWIW, I know where you are coming from though I am not 3/4 of a world away from mine.

Went to the bike show in Whangarei today. left Shell Westgte about 8:30 this morning and had a bloody fantastic ride up 16, along 1 for a bit, thrashing it down 12 for a coffee at Blah Blah Blah and a meet up with 2 world travellers and then a sublime ride along 14 fro m Draggsville into Whangarei - that has to be one of the best bike roads around.

Perved at all the bikes, visited the olds at their new house, buzzed back down 1 - meeting the missus in Wellsford on HER way up to Whangarei (we aint the most coordinated of couples  ) and then cruising home.

Just a sunday

I took part in an easter egg charity run, but that was all on saturday, cos I had to head out to the speedway as I was in a demolition derby. But just got home half an hour ago, went for a pootle with the girl on the back, out past Macandrew Bay, past portobello and out to the heads, then back to Portobello to warm up with a beer and a few games of pool with the better half, before heading back, was a really nice ride.

Will be even nicer in a few weeks when she has her licence and has the confidence to ride her own bike with me!!

I went for a scoot to Whangamata on Saturday. Ended up at the Whitianga festival of speed for a nosy. What a fun ride. Been a long time since I have done the Coro loop. Going to have to do the whole thing again I can see, what fun.

The Shiver went over the Hill yesterday. Its speedo managed some bursts of enthusiasm. A couple were quite long, stable and accurate. On other occasions it would have made a good Lotto number generator. It recorded about 44km of the day's ride, bless it.

The joys of Italian motorcycles!

Did the friday night ride, had refreshments in Pahiatua. Saturday late afternoon trundled over to Monamie's place for a party her and 86GSXR were throwing, stayed there the night along with a few others, got up had a primo breakfast then headed off to hastings with Cowboyz to pick up a new headlight for his bike.
Rode back to my place and installed said headlight, enjoyable and productive weekend really.

Cruising Sunday and my bike happened to stall in the left lane causing a hold of traffic behind me. As i frantically tried to start my bike, happened that there were 67 other motorcycle coming out from an adjacent pub car park in front of me.Then when i got my machine going i decided to follow them "birds of a feather thing". You dangerously stopped me in heavy traffic conditions for no apparent reason other than to question me and my mates activity. Unfortunate i didn't know any of them at all, and i couldn't help notice as you chatted to me, that they all had run through two sets of red lights as you asked me some reasonably dumb questions. Coincidence there were other bikers wearing same fluro vests holding up traffic too.
Anyway, you appeared happy that i was wearing a fluro vest, and that my bike up to spec rego and wof, etc. However your attitude has made me strike you off this years list of Easter Egg recipients Officer Killjoy, and i have like the rest of the motorcyclists i was following, kindly donated mine to underprivaleged children of Southland.

Took Son-in-Law to New Plymouth so's he could pick up a van for his business. I fugured the bike might be a bit of a tough trip for his tender butt for a first ride, so we took the next best thing... Yup the MX5!

Had a ball! Kept up with a Kwaka Concourse in the gorge. The MX5 is more fun than a barrel full of monkeys!

I really need to do the loop down there on the bike though, down the coast to NP then back through the Whangamomona, (sp?) road.

Sunday morning went to visit my dear friend who is dying of Motor Neurone Disease. He may only have a month or two left now. He's only 77 and loves his classic cars, esp. V8's, loves my bike and is an engineer and inventor. He finds the process of dying "interesting" ??!!!!
