Don't toucha my tyres

Took my bike in for a warrant last Monday, which is fine as it passed okay. On the week end just before going out on a ride I checked the tyres and found the pressures were about 8 PSI too high on both wheels. I am guessing that the bike shop guy added extra air. BUT WHY?
The pressures had been as per the users manual.......and they didn't even tell me they had added air. This was the first time I had to get a warrant as am new to biking.Is this usuall? MY first reaction is, this is dangerous......

Should be 25 psi front 29 psi rear. But was 32 front 38 rear......

Their tyre-pressure guage is probably inaccurate.

The norm is usually around 32 front 36 rear I believe.

Either way a WOF check, unless specifically requested by the customer means no work or repairs are done to the bike.

They can advise you of things that need to be done that may not be a requirement of the WOF but cannot carry out the work without permission.

Did they charge you for any extra labour Fumph?
EDIT: If the person doing the test ride thinks that the tyres aren't at a safe pressure they may decide to rectify that for their own safety, fair enough.

some people think higher pressure is better....but I found out as well that to much pressure made my back to "bouncy" in fast corners....

No extra charges were made. But I wasn't expecting changes like that to be made without telling me. I use the tyre pressures from te manual which of course may not be exactely right as I have differnt tyres from the factory fitted ones. But I don't think that would make much difference. Using the reccommended pressures she feels good and firm on corners and I guess it would be bouncy and more likely to slide with higher pressures. The tyres I have on are Pirelli City Demons ...
