My brother has an early(1973) Elsinore MT125 that is in quite good nick - fitted with alloy rims from a Elsinore CR125, brand new OEM tank and some panels. It has all the road bits (lights, speedo etc). It has never been road registered in its life.
He is going to sell it quite cheaply (<$1k) and I thought, if I can get it complianced for the road I might take it off his hands and use it myself. Its too good to see it thrashed around some farm paddock and I don't ride off road.
Has anyone here had any experience of compliancing an early bike. I have been told that it would be next to impossible with this bike as the brakes would not meet current specs although they were original for their day.
If its gonna be too hard to compliance it will probably end up on TradeMe so if anyone wants first dibs, as a classic Trail bike, let me know.:niceone:
